All I want is an actual birth certificate. That would end the controversy right there. Why no one from the Obama camp can seem to produce a birth certificate is a mystery to me...unless he was not born in the U.S. as he claims.
I’ve said this many times. It’s easy to get a certified copy of your birth certificate. I had to get one some months ago, and it was easy (a completed form, a check for $10 and an SASE). I would imagine that the state of Hawaii has a similar procedure (maybe the fee is different???). So I don’t know why this has to be a big deal...unless MR. Obama was not born in the U.S.
And by the way, Salon is a rag, pure and simple. Wouldn’t trust anything it tells me.
Could you please provide a link to the law that states that in order for one to be a "natural born citizen" that both parents must be U.S. citizens at the time of their birth?
I hate to say it, but this guy has a point. It is readily apparent that neither Obama’s step-grandmother nor the Kenyan ambassador actually claimed that Obama, Jr. was born in Kenya. However, all sorts of birthers with overactive imaginations will claim that they swore affidavits, erected statues, etc., etc., etc..
Some people are so intensely desirous of a magic way to discredit socialism that they suspend disbelief.
In fact, the only way to defeat Obama and his ideology is politically and that involves much, much hard work, not card tricks.
Why doesn’t the left want to know exactly where Obama was born. What doctor brought Obama into this world. Seems like good historical data that they should desire.

I agree..the issue is the father..he was not a US citizen when Obama was born and never made an effort to be.
This is correct, this man isn’t eligible under ANY CONCEIVABLE CIRCUMSTANCE considering his history. Despite this, since no-one seems willing to enforce our constitution out of fear of angering “a certain segment of the population”, I demand to see his long birth certificate. NOTHING ELSE WILL DO, and until such time, I consider the government of the USA to be both rogue and criminal. Those involved in this cover up are accessories to treason as far as I am concerned.
We are to believe the “second wife of Obama’s grandfather” flew around the globe from Kenya - just to be at the mysterious non-existant hospital in Hawaii for his birth?

The Birthers have a tape recorded interview by a US Radio show where the Kenyan Ambassador says BO born in Keya, they also have recording of Grandma saying born in Kenya, they also hava affidavits. They are not, repeat not relying on the BS straw man referred to in the post. Poor try at discrediting.

All this attention to the ‘Birthers’ is so funny. What is also even more delicious are posters like trumandogz who are in rampant mode about it.
Obama’s political career is not by winning elections so much as finding the opponent disqualified. His Democrat and Republican competitors he had disqualified and thrown out of the race.
He attempted to disqualify John McCain. How? He did so based on the grounds that McCain wasn’t a naturalized citizen since he was born in Panama. Now, this issue came up in 2000 when McCain earlier ran, and McCain’s lawyers went through the motions to show why McCain was a naturalized citizen. All is fine and well.
It would make perfect sense to ask Obama to prove he was a naturalized citizen, as he forced McCain to do. Where there is smoke, there is fire. There is much smoke around this issue.
-Obama flying to Hawaii at the last days of the campaign to seal his birth certificate.
-Appointing a photo from a single website called ‘Factcheck’ as sole authority that it is his ‘birth certificate’ in which there has been no verification and no certificate of live birth.
-Kenyan ambassador and Kenyan grandmother saying he was born in Kenya. Kenyan officials now not letting journalists in to investigate and forbidding the family to talk to journalists.
-Obama spending a million dollars in legal fees just to prevent him from revealing his birth certificate.
-Obama mentioning multiple hospitals at which he was born.
-Obama having odd gaffes such as “57 states” or “my Muslim religion...”
-Pentagon dropping the order to Major Cook just to drop the challenge Cook presented to not have to prove Obama legitimate.
The louder the articles and media goes against this issue, which is receiving far more attention than the kooky 9/11 truther movement, points out that someone is worried.
If birthers were complete morons, it would be best to let them be morons and have them commit political suicide. But since the media is doing all these stories on the ‘birthers’, it shows someone wants these ‘birthers’ to shut up.

A DEPOSITION IS NOT A BIRTH CERTIFICATE.

Can you quote the law in place at the time that prevents it?
1) Place of birth -- Coast Hospital in Kenya.
2) Only one parent was a U.S. citizen and she was underage.
3) His adoption by Soetoro and citizenship in Indonesia.
Any one of these is enough to disqualify him and require him to get out of our House.
When you separate out all the various claims and counter claims and all the BS Obama is on top. There is nothing that requires a person to prove his or her eligibility for the office of President. He is perfectly within his rights to stand fast and stonewall any attempts after the fact to force him to prove his status. Like the Slick One did so well he is simply cashing in on a loophole.
That's not to say there aren't legitimate ways to challenge his eligibility, and his duties as CIC is one of them.
Most honest people will not resort to finding loopholes to accomplish their goals.

The article title is misleading. She clearly said Obama was born in Kenya. Whether her “correction” is truthful or not should be subject to further investigation not outright dismissal. One thing is for certain, the Kenyan government put her under armed guard and blocked media access leading up to the election.
