The White House says the media's "obsessions" are keeping alive President Barack Obama's comments about the arrest of a Harvard scholar seen trying to get into his own house. Asked whether Obama regretted commenting on the matter, spokesman Robert Gibbs told reporters that the president probably would regret distracting the media with "obsessions." Gibbs says Obama has "great respect" for police officers and understands what a hard job they have.

This is just sweet isn't it?
Wasn't it the same -8bama who deliberately planted the question with Lynn Sweet, who was just a set up by the 0bama team to ask that question at the very end of his press conference, in an attempt to gain more momentum for him, because they thought they were going to use to good old race card to get more public support?
And are they not only now retreating because their vile tactic backfired badly?
To: libh8er
Suddenly they have to throw against the wind and the White House can’t handle it.

Just like his “spread the wealth comment”.

In a perfect world, a reporter would have followed up: “Wouldn’t it have been better if the President, since he admitted did not know the details of the story, simply declined to respond to the question?

Presser going on ... asking for an apology from 0 and the Gov. --
The spokesman expressly said they are not asking for or demanding an apology, from anybody. Whether or not Gates or Obama want to comment further on their statements is up to them, said the spokesman.
I did get a kick out of the statement that Obama's label of "stupid" was directed to the wrong party in this dispute.

You are so right...maybe it should it be’ Wright’ in this case. Obama started this with his “stupidly” comment. He had lots of options to respond to the question....he chose an incendiary word.

Is Gates going to apologize for calling the media obsessive? I think he should and go on and say they should be grateful to be here and not to act like ignorant spoiled brats. Then apologize for calling the media spoiled ignorant brats and say....
