House healthcare negotiations dissolved in acrimony on Friday, with Blue Dog Democrats saying they were “lied” to by their Democratic leaders.
The seven Blue Dogs on the Energy and Commerce Committee stormed out of a Friday meeting with their committee chairman, Henry Waxman (D-Calif.), saying Waxman had been negotiating in bad faith over a number of provisions Blue Dogs demanded be changed in the stalled healthcare bill.
“I’ve been lied to,” Blue Dog Coalition Co-Chairman Charlie Melancon (D-La.) said on Friday. “We have not had legitimate negotiations.
“Mr. Waxman has decided to sever discussions with the Blue Dogs who are trying to make this bill work for America,” Melancon said...

"Waxman simply does not have votes in committee and process should not be bypassed to bring the bill straight to floor,” Rep. Mike Ross (D-Ark.), the lead Blue Dog negotiator, said on Friday. “We are trying to save this bill and trying to save this party.”
Melancon said there would be 40-45 “solid no” votes from the 52-strong Blue Dogs, among other problems throughout the caucus.

That is the real problem here. If the vote is close enough, the Democrats will bribe a couple of Republicans and the bill will pass.

I also just got off the phone with my rep. I said, I know that Representative Murphy doesn't care what his constituents think but this is too important to rubber stamp the way he's done every other bill to come before him. I then told the story of the woman from England who flew here for a mammogram because her screening ultrasound didn't qualify her for one in England. Her mom and sister both had breast cancer and she had a lump.
I wonder how these congress people will feel when it's their daughter or granddaughter who is denied a test like this until it is too late.
I just called Dennis Moore, our only Rat Congressman from KS (member of Blue Dogs), and she said he is not decided yet. He always votes with Pelosi though. He said the same thing about cap and trade and then voted with the Rats.

I hope you’re not that naive. The ruling class will not be covered by this bill. They will retain separate and far superior coverage. Rush has been covering this for days.
I didn’t call any of the committee members, but I called all the PA Blue Dogs today. All the staffers were very polite and receptive to my call, which was a pleasant change from my calls to Senator Casey’s offices.
Good sign for the Dems to have a total meltdown going into the weekend. Gives us a couple of days to rest up, live well, and prepare ourselves to continue the fight. ObamaCare won’t be going away, but every delay exposes more of the horrors of government-run healthcare to the public and weakens the ultimate chances of passage.
