Obama and the Alinsky Camouflage Strategy -- hiding radicalism in plain sight (Vanity)

One of the greatest lessons of Saul Alinsky, the father of community organization, was that if radicals want to create a Marxist state, they must first gain power (i.e. the Presidency). And if they seek to gain power, they must hide both their radical past and their radical intentions...it must all be done "on the sly."

And that is where a fellow named Barack Obama comes in. He is the disguise.

His past is replete with radical associations but he blithely slides by them--testifying that "that's not the Jeremiah Wright I knew" or Bill Ayers is "just someone from my neighborhood." Because he lies with such aplomb and absence of contrition, some folks--many folks--believe he is telling the truth.

Obama has hidden himself and his radical agenda in plain view. He has camouflaged himself with his Cheshire cat smile and cool demeanor.

Obama's rhetorical window-dressing is easily recognizable as Alinskyesque camouflage. New annual spending of more than $340 billion, as estimated by the National Taxpayers Union, is merely a wish to "recast" the safety net woven by FDR and LBJ, as Obama describes it in his writings. The free market is disparaged as a "winner-take-all" economy. Big tax increases masquerade as "restoring fairness to the economy." (Source: IBD)
And if we think that the current financial crisis will prevent Obama from implementing his ambitious Marxist plans (plans so ambitious that most CEO's recently polled said they "would bankrupt the country within three years"), we need to consider what Obama's idol Alinsky thought of our economy...
Capitalism always was considered the enemy. "America's corporations are a spiritual slum," he wrote, "and their arrogance is the major threat to our future as a free society." (Source IBD)
Now it becomes clear.

The current financial crisis is not only NOT a barrier to Obama's Socialist plans, it provides the perfect vehicle.

Of course Obama will bankrupt the system--it's all part of the plan.

The capitalist system must be destroyed so Obama's Change agents can ride to the rescue and construct his Marxist state over its burned-out remains. In fact, with the talk of Government nationalizing some banks, it looks like it has already begun.

At last...Hope and Change ala Alinsky...and Obama!

I came across the piece written last year before Obama was elected and was surprised by how applicable it still is.

Thought I would share it...no doubt you all had (and still have) similar thoughts

Thx! Obama is still right on track!

Hopefully, he can be derailed by the rejection of his healthcare plan.

And this is one of the key elements of liberalism. The fact that they have to hide and disguise what they really want to do is telling.

Ronald Reagan was proud of being conservative. So was Barry Goldwater, and so are many conservatives today. The conservatives are happy to discuss conservatism, and why they think conservatives values are superior. They try to persuade others to that point of view. They are open and above board about the types of gov’t policies and laws they would like to see.

Liberals, on the other hand, do not tell us explicitly that they want government control over our lives and more powers to the government. They do not discuss the issues in an intellectually honest way. They do not tell us why liberal values are better than the conservative approach. They whine about the sins of the past and their politically correct world view limits their ability to have construction discussions.

They are into the name calling, i.e. the racism, homophobia, etc. that they perceive at the drop of a hat. They get side tracked by how offended they feel about the sins of the past and how America has not sufficiently atoned for those sins.

They say that America and capitalism have resulted in a society in which the top people earn too much, have too much wealth, etc.

Generally, liberals are negative and depressed about the state of the world and the state of the country. They see and magnify all that is or was bad about America, without giving any credit to our ancestors and all the good that they did to make America the country that it is today. Conservatives on the other hand, tend to be optimistic about the future and think that Americans can and will overcome the challenges of the present, and that America will be a better country for all.

And liberals complain about racism, sexism, and homophobia...........and so it goes.............

“Hope and change” was camouflage for “rope and chains” to tie us down and shackle us.

“In the department of economy, an act, a habit, an institution, a law, gives birth not only to an effect, but to a series of effects. Of these effects, the first only is immediate; it manifests itself simultaneously with its cause - it is seen. The others unfold in succession - they are not seen: it is well for us, if they are foreseen. Between a good and a bad economist this constitutes the whole difference - the one takes account of the visible effect; the other takes account both of the effects which are seen, and also of those which it is necessary to foresee. Now this difference is enormous, for it almost always happens that when the immediate consequence is favourable, the ultimate consequences are fatal, and the converse. Hence it follows that the bad economist pursues a small present good, which will be followed by a great evil to come, while the true economist pursues a great good to come, - at the risk of a small present evil.” - Frederick Bastiat 1801-1850 “That Which is Seen, and That Which is Not Seen”

yep.... but, the liberals snicker and giggle when they get alone together, behind the backs of others... thinking that they have pulled another fast one, and the common people (who elected them) are too stupid too know! I remember the picture of the NJ politics a month ago... when they were together in a room, and didn’t know the camera was watching, it was slapping each other on the back and snickering... and then they put on the mean face when they come out of the hiding room.

racism acting like racism..

There’s been no “hiding” of anything! The morons on the left either see it and approve, or refuse to see it (there is none so blind, as he who will not see”).

Liberals are accusers...just like Alinsky's hero, Lucifer/Satan (the original accuser)!

“Generally, liberals are negative and depressed about the
state of the world and the state of the country”

They use that as an excuse to hide their own insecurities, inefficiencies, and racism. Most liberals I know live a different lifestyle than they want to impose on others. It’s always someone else’s money, or job, or law school opening that they vote to sacrifice. They seldom give to charity, and the ones who do work in nonprofits, do so because they’re paid for it. Their politics doesn’t work, they know it, and prove by running for conservatives, especially when they’re in trouble.

Right...not obscure but hidden in plain sight!

The truth is right in front of the noses of those who are mistaken about Obama, yet they still fail (or refuse) to see it.
