FAIRBANKS, Alaska -- Alaska Gov. Sarah Palin steps down Sunday giving few clues about her political future, which has been clouded by ethics probes, mounting legal bills and dwindling popularity.

A few things are known: She is scheduled to speak Aug. 8 at the Ronald Reagan Presidential Library in California, and has said she plans to write a book, campaign for political candidates from coast to coast and build a right-of-center coalition.

Governor Palin has been picked apart by the buzzards who comprise the socialist media and those who are now in charge of America.

I love Sarah Palin but I do wonder if this is the right thing. Somehow quitting never seems to be the best option.

future unclear

A lot of court time, I'm thinking.

Never did get the Palin thing, myself.

I am sure writers at the Miami Herald are up nights worrying about Palin. I think they should worry about their dismal bottomline and further irrelevance as their Emperor Obama shows everyday he is less and less clothed.

A newspaper 4500 miles from Alaska writes a feature story on the governor’s last day in office. I thought the left wanted her to disappear from public view. These Palin haters may wake up four years from now to discover they’ve helped elect her to the presidency.

Goes to show you that harassment, threats and libel are O.K. as long as a liberal is doing it.

The most disgusting thing about it is that they have done it with impunity and are now jumping with joy, behind closed doors, at their success.

What a terrible shame.

The over-riding question is, why?

IMHO

IMHO

She has been picked at but not picked apart.

They see Obama at NEGATIVE 11 and are scared to death. Their time is running out and they know it. The media claims she has no future yet all they talk about is her future LOL. The media claim they hate her yet they fly to Alaska to see a picnic. The media is scared to death that she will rally conservatives and we will take back the house and senate

If she ceases to be a public figure, so she can slap the state run media around with some well deserved liable and slander whup-ass ...then things could turn around quite well.

Photobucket Tina Fey may come to have deep financial regrets.

Consider it a strategic redeployment instead of quitting.
When the enemy has your # , change tactics and the game.
Enough playing within the rules that everyone knows is unfair.
Time to take the fight to the other side.

have faith. God works in mysterious ways. Who would have thought Esther being taken would have turned out as it did?

The media is scared to death that she will rally conservatives and we will take back the house and senate.

I certainly hope that WE do!

These communist bozos running and ruining our lives can do a lot of damage over the next few months.

It may take a genius to unravel and reverse the mess they're making.

If a successful flushing out of the socialists takes place I would hope that the likes of RINO imbeciles like Snowe, Collins and a host of others get dumped!

The Jameson character was the best movie representation of a comic character ever. Best line:

You don't trust anyone, do you?
I trust my barber.

What's saddest about the Tina Fey thing is the number of people who attribute Fey's lines on SNL to Palin.

Sarah Palin initiated a brilliant flanking manuever against the left, the DNC, the MSM and the RINOs that has them all in a frenzy wondering what her next move will be and how it will be perceived...and has them frothing at the mouth in their efforts to discredit her.

Sarah will now get her book out, go on tour, give speeches and promote conservatie principles all over this country in the midst of the Obama administration disaster and gain great political capital in the process. Then she will support conservative candidates in 2010 and help them win, amassing much more political capital. She will then take all of that and make an awesome, stunning run for the Presidency in 2012.

If she completed her term the libs would just say she is only a one-term governor with numerous ethics probes. She will never get favorable treatment from the MSM.

We are about to find out if she has a message that resonates with America. I think she is an Obama killer. She is genuine, Obama is a phoney. She has reined in government, Obama expands it. She understands the life most Americans live, Obama does not. Obama speaks of compassion for the weak and helpless, Palin lives it.

The left is deathly afraid of her.

I think it was the only option available to her.

The democratic attacks had made the position of Governor untenable for her.

There were what, 18 ethics complaints filed against her. The legal bills were huge and she was obligated to pay them - not the State of Alaska.

They even filed a complaint about her forming a legal defense fund.

That was the most recent ‘ethics complaint’ that was leaked.

The democratic shill in charge of it decided it would be an ethics violation if she accepted any of that money to pay those legal bills ...

She had not yet accepted any of the money as she was waiting for this issue to be cleared.

Given their position, she was going to be continued to subject to vicious, unfounded attacks without the necessary funds to refute them.

Somebody recently put together a video showing the links of the people who were attacking her to the democrats.

"I love Sarah Palin but I do wonder if this is the right thing. Somehow quitting never seems to be the best option."

She resigned to stop the useless expense to the taxpayers of Alaska from having to defend against the petty legal challenges. I don't call that "quitting." I call it "strategic," and I think she is going to be much more useful and effective once she is free of the constraints of the office of governor. Sometimes, an office can be more of a burden and hindrance than the title is worth.

I'm willing to give her the benefit of the doubt. She's no qitter. Period.

Your keyboard to G-d’s ears, Jeff. The bottom line is that she has a bright career ahead of her, and is a rising star in the conservative movement. Run for senate? That would be awesome. We need a Newt Gingrich for 2010, and she just may be the new Newt.

“Sarah Palin initiated a brilliant flanking maneuver...” Jeff, I couldn’t agree with you more.

Maybe I’m giving her too much credit to, but I can seem to think that if traditional political warfare is delivering traditional results or no results at all — switch to unconventional political warfare, where one can defeat many, I’ll use this youtube video to illustrate my point for those that don’t understand; http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=COItXh04d0c&feature=related

So my point, as Governor, she was vulnerable to their attacks, now, she can take the attack to her enemy and be more effective and consistent in her attacks.

IMO!
