Now, Americans are waking up to the truth that ObamaCare basically means that every time you are sick or injured, you will have a clerk from the Department of Motor Vehicles telling your doctor what he can and cannot do.

I don't understand statists. My father is one. He rails about government intrusion, inefficiency, fraud, and corruption. The next breath he'll tell me how more tax dollars, regulation, and government ownership will solve all of our problems. It flies in the face of logic.

and Stein has been an obama fan- didn’t he vote for the POS?

I don't know about that.

Here is a quote of his from 2007 that I saved:

Ben Stein in the Feb. 2007 issue of The American Spectator eviscerates Obama: "...what is this insanity about Barack Obama? He's nobody. Nothing. Just a small town ward heeler who has already been busted taking bribes, has no experience at all -- NONE -- on the world stage or in defense or anything else. Could we be crazy enough to even consider him as president? Have we gone totally nuts? Hillary is a responsible politician with broad experience. I do not want to see her elected, but she's Winston Churchill compared to Obama.", posted on 02/24/2007 3:14:53 PM PST by Verginius Rufus

“‘Bless your little heart’.”

Ahhh, like the tried and true Southern disingenuous compliment followed by a tastefully sarcastic, yet ostensibly polite, converstation where the idiot being dressed down may not realize it.

Done properly, it is a true art form.

I would go out and say that there are plenty of compliant suck-ups to choose from that can actually articulate and think on their feet. As one of the main faces of the administration, you would think Obama would choose someone who doesn’t make him and the secretary look like an idiot.

My only reasoning is that Obama wants to surround himself with people who are mental midgets so he could look smarter, or he really hasn’t a clude who to surround himself with.

Tony Snow, God Bless his soul, was by far one of the best PS in recent memory.

I used to love watch the his press addresses. Witty, smart and articulate.

Stein ceased being relevant to me when he donated money to Weird Al Franken’s election.

let me know who’s side he’s on next month.

“Democrats love to be deceived”
*

Hence, their delusional thinking that a Utopian society can be attained.

I went looking for Ben’s comments about “0” and found how he couldn’t stop smiling on inauguration day - *groan*

Maybe the slumbering giant in America is starting to shake itself. I have noticed a lot of the elitist repubs seem to be backtracking lately, if only somewhat.

I really can’t understand why they didn’t know what he was about from the beginning. The zero’s associations, his writings, not to mention his involvement in community rabble rousing, made it clear as day, even if you wanted to discount the rumors.

I think it was Robert Heinlein who said,” You can’t fool all the people all the time, but you fool enough of them to run a good sized country.”

Their belief in a Utopian possibility is, ironically, what makes them most dangerous.

They will willingly sacrifice their freedom and yours, as well as your life (not theirs) in order to achieve that Utopia, because it is such a desirable goal.

Voters can overwhelm ACORN — all they have to do is get motivated enough to get off the couch and go vote...... and people do not advance vote by mail, look at how they used that in MN to give the election to Franken.

For example, despite the current economic mess, my mother-in-law insists that things were far worse under Bush and that good times are right around the corner with Obama.

I hope you're not planning to share your stockpiled groceries with her when the store by her house is empty.

disagree. Distancing ones self from Bush was the wrong approach. What was needed was someone who would be willing to defending some of the more hated policies of the Bush administration (i.e, how Cheney defended “torture” policies and other national defense policies).

Ben Stein may have ignored all of these truths about 0bama, but FReepers didn’t.

The Nation of Islam uniform might do. Or maybe just for his goon squad, because you’re right, he’ll want something flashier.
