Sunday morning, Secretary of State Hillary Clinton did a full hour with David Gregory on Meet the Press. She is, above all else, a committed Obama team member, echoing the president’s line on everything from engagement to restarts and artfully smoothing over Joe Biden’s head-scratchers. One of the most depressing moments of the hour came with this:

Wonder what she thinks about being turned into virtually a non-entity by The 0 and Emmanual?

“[…] Conservatives can’t seem to grasp the concept of holding two opposing views in your head at once. That’s just one reason they can’t do foreign policy and why they don’t understand the first thing about diplomacy. […]”

I wonder if the commenter has any specifics - can justify that statement???

I rather like the Teddy Roosevelt axiom, ‘Walk softly, but carry a big stick,: (or something like that)

This stems from a quote of F. Scott Fitzgerald: "The test of a first-rate intelligence is the ability to hold two opposing ideas in mind at the same time and still retain the ability to function."

It also recalls a fun bit of trivia from Douglas Adams' "Hitchhiker's Guide to the Galaxy" series.

Marvin the android, you see, has a brain the size of a planet thanks to trans-dimensional packaging technology, and generally pities the poor feeble humans with their microscopic meat brains.

The "Hitchhikers" text-based adventure game required you to have in your possession "tea" and "no tea" at the same time in order to persuade a robotic door that you are sufficiently intelligent to be worthy of it opening for you.

If that comment isn't sly sarcasm, it's a rather interesting insight into the minds of liberals, who apparently fancy themselves to be fifty thousand times more intelligent than conservatives. At least in Marvin's case, it was true.

"You think you've got problems, what are you supposed to do if you're a manically depressed robot? No, don't bother to answer that, I'm fifty thousand times more intelligent than you and even I don't know the answer. It gives me a headache just trying to think down to your level."

Two opposing views held at the same time? Isn't that the definition of hypocrisy? As for understanding diplomacy, would that be Republicans not getting how describing a sovereign State, N Korea as one which acts like "an unruly child" being considered good diplomacy?

Someone help me out here.

She is being groomed so that after O’bama is aced out of
the Prez for not being born in the US of A, Biden can
then choose her for VP, and Biden can have another “stroke”
as they are called....

OK...you are now free from paranoia alert....proceed at
your normal pace...

She is, above all else, a ROTFLMAO
committed Obama team member, echoing the president’s line on everything from engagement to restarts and artfully smoothing over Joe Biden’s head-scratchers....

And if anyone really believes that, I have some beach property I'll show you at low tide, it's reached by this bridge....

Hillary has already knifed Obama in the back. I'm pretty sure Obama's handlers have noticed it, even if he hasn't let on. Her boy Dick Morris' bombshell backstabber book, "Catastrophe," marks the end of Obama after one term and the end of his mandate in 2010. Morris has been making the rounds of the conservative talkers trying to get them (somewhat successfully) to push the book and let them do the heavy lifting early in the game. Team Clinton are sharks, dude. They smelled Obama Blood in the water, and just to make sure, they had their paid butt boy Morris pour in a lot more.

I predict Hill will be jumping ship toward the end of 2010. Team Clinton is slowly toasting Obama as we speak.

Conservatives can’t seem to grasp the concept of holding two opposing views in your head at once.

It's called cognitive dissonance.
