Sunday, about 100 people rallied in front of the mall to support Spivack and his right to free speech.

He opened his Free Market Warrior kiosk last spring, selling such items as “Impeach Obama” bumper stickers and baby bibs that say, “My parents chose life. Thanks Mom and Dad!”

Spivack said he's found other stores in the mall selling T shirts and other merchandise with offensive slogans and feels he's being targeted “purely for politic reasons.”

Since the controversy arose, he said his business has picked up.......

Please note, the ‘Concord Mills’ shopping center is owned by Simon Properties, who own or run outlet stores around the country. According to the Charlotte Observer, conservatives are planning to boycott Concord Mills if this shop owner is, as expected, thrown out of the place.

We can do better! Boycott Simon Properties nationwide. Go to http://www.simon.com to find the list of properties near you. Let’s see if the nObama “stimulus” will bail them out.

There was an interview with Beck and the store owner said that "Simon properties" is owned by a big Zero donor and this Simon guy owns numerous shopping centers. I say we leave him with just his Zero supporters as customers. See if he can maintain his Zero support with half his customers.

You gotta let managers of anchor stores know of your boycott.

It’s a real uphill battle but if enough folks speak up, a few waves will be felt.

Not quite. Depends on the terms in the lease. Any number of businesses (gun shops, for example) will ask for -- any many times get -- terms written into the lease that they are exempt from complaints about the sale of products that are fully lawful to sell in the location in question.

With the huge slump in commercial real estate, I should be VERY surprised if such terms are becoming more and more common. Especially so after this little incident.

‘Impeach Obama’ bumper stickers spark a shopping mall protest

F’ing media is so shameful. If you glanced at the headline without reading the story, you would assume those who constituted the “protest,” were supportive of Obama. The Headline suggests not only a conflict, but a numerous disparity, and they are trying to set a tone of normal versus undesirable.

The media are the lowest of the low. Scum.

This was on my local news last night.

They only stated that two protesters attended. And, frankly, these two weren't the best and the brightest FR would have to offer.

What's worse is that the tone of the piece was "Look at the idiot Republicans". Kind of a tongue-in-cheek hit piece.

I hate the MSM.

Simon Properties owns my local Galleria Mall here in Houston. I will not set foot in the place from now on, although I already avoided it due to the very high concentration of gangsta thug Katrina folks as well as the numerous Jihadis with their burqa'd followers in tow.

Serously, the fanciest mall in town is channeling the 3rd world. My wife is afraid to go there after recently being harrassed by "youths".

I doubt this guy will go out of business over this, I suspect he'll just move on to another mall. I came across their kiosk in the mall in Pineville back in February, which it appears is the one they moved to Concord Mills, and I understand that they have another one at the mall in Hickory. There are a number of other malls in the area that I'm sure would be happy to have his business.

Still, he could be losing out on a good location, all because the mall owner wants to be a jerk.

They have about 398 properties worldwide. I don’t think we’d be very successful directly attacking Simon.

The key, I think, would be to bombard store in their malls, starting with book stores, and then stores known to be Conservative friendly.

Well, I generally GO to this Concord Mall in the fall. It's a haul, but there's some good places for XMas shopping. And Mrs. Wbill and I enjoy the change.

I won't be going there this year. I also wrote Simon Properties a note, explaining my position. No response yet. I'm not holding my breath.

This was the local Foxnews in Greensboro. Channel 10. http://www.myfox8.com/

Direct quote: "Only two people attended the protest". To Fox's credit, both were interviewed.

Both of them looked like decent people, but were I a little more to the left of the spectrum...my comment would have been "Rightwing Moonbats". They weren't put in a very flattering light.

And, interestingly enough, I just poked around on the Fox8 website, and couldn't find the story.

Everything else from last night's 10 o'clock news was there....just nothing on the Mall Protest.

I'll grant that I didn't look all that hard...couple of minutes' worth of skimming....but I still thought that it was interesting.
