WASHINGTON -- Sen. Jeff Sessions, R-Mobile, will vote against giving Judge Sonia Sotomayor a seat on the U.S. Supreme Court.

In a column published today in the USA Today newspaper, Sessions wrote that he does not believe that Sotomayor "has the deep-rooted convictions necessary to resist the siren call of judicial activism."

"She has evoked its mantra too often," he wrote. "As someone who cares deeply about our great heritage of law, I must withhold my consent."

“rooted convictions necessary to resist the siren call of judicial activism”

Right on Jeff. No one should be voting for her confirmation.

If anyone feels led, Sen. Sessions is being viciously attacked by the leftist that permeate AL.COM.

A word in support might go a long way if anyone has time today.

Jeff Sessions is absolutely correct! I wish more in Congress would be able to see what is truly happening!

I sent Sessions a “nice job” on his article. It’s disgusting the way the Supreme nominees back away from their written opinions, slide onto the court, they do what they want.

Good for him. A real man of character voting the way his brain is telling him instead of caving and voting the way the rest of the crowd do. We need more politicians like this. Where are they????????????????

Just watch. But for Flimsy Graham, her nomination would have died in the Judiciary Committee.

I’ve thought the same thing since she was nominated by Obama. I knew Goober would vote for her and I thought it was unlikely anyone else would, except maybe Hatch. The fact that Hatch is voting against her should tell people how bad she is.
