FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE July 27, 2009 Media Matters for America
After CNN President Jon Klein reportedly called Lou Dobbs' coverage of conspiracy theories about President Obama's birth certificate "legitimate" on Friday, July 24, Media Matters for America President Eric Burns sent an email to its thousands of online activists today asking for their help to publicly pressure CNN to credibly address its Lou Dobbs problem.
In the email, Burns writes: "Klein's caving to Dobbs raises a serious, troubling question: Who is really calling the shots at CNN?"

Umm....
So Media Matters wants nobody to cover the issue?
I guess media doesn’t actually matter.....................
I thought Hillary owned Media Matters. IF that’s the case, wouldn’t this Burns guy be FOR - not AGAINST - talking about the BC issue on CNN or whatever cable news station?
What is the most far fetched?
— The earth will come to an end on _______.
— The earth is 6000 years old.
— Government spending will stimulate growth and is healthy.
— Governments can run health care systems better than private individual choice coupled with insurance companies.
— The climate of earth is changing at an unprecedented rate. This change is bad. Humans activity is causing it.
— Obama was not born in Hawaii or any other U.S. state.
Soros owns them. Soros loves the boy marxist
Exactly. If Media Matters was a legitimate organization, it would celebrate the media’s right to cover whatever it wanted to cover. Instead, it’s pushing a censorship agenda. Not very impressive.
If this whole birth certificate issue is “nothing” and those who bring it up are “kooks” in the same league with the 9/11 “Troofers”, why the fuss? Wouldn’t it make more sense to cast Lou Dobbs as a nut to be ignored instead of getting him fired? What is Media Matters so concerned about?
Lou Dobbs is the biggest ratings earner for CNN. If the people running CNN know what is good for the network, they will give Dobbs a big say in what he chooses to cover.
Klein changed his opinion but I guess it did have less to do with Dobbs running CNN and more to do with the viewing figures. Money talks...eh, Soros?
I’ve said for years that the press is bias not in how they cover stories, but in what stories they choose to cover.
Who would have heard of the Swift Boat Vets, really, without the intenet and conservative talk radio hosts?
Does Soros fund Media Matters and, if so, how can we show that?
I think it is great that Lou Dobbs has taken on this issue. But what about conservative talk radio? I never hear Rush, Sean, Mark, or Laura discuss this issue.
Rush has touched on it a few times recently. Hence the firestorm now.
I missed that. When did he change opinion?
Of course CNN could always do what they did with Glenn Beck by losing Lou Dobbs to Fox, thus sending CNN’s ratings even lower, even as Lou Dobbs signs a massive new contract with Fox and gets even higher ratings at Fox.
Only problem CNN is O has no slave blood. His father was an African immigrant, his mom white. It a total like spewed forth by a propaganda outlet posturing as a "news agency".
Leftists please, CNN is all most as biased and demagogic in its propaganda for the Zero as MSNBC. It all regime propaganda all the time over there.
I don't care for Dobb’s but admire his courage in covering this. Rather then having their white house mouth pieces and their stodge propaganda outlets scream bile at anyone who questions O's birth, why do they not simply PRODUCE his birth certificate for us?
Hey Burns, we know who is calling the shots at Media Maters don't we? It's the same guy you want to call the shots at CNN too, the convicted felon and Nazi sympathizer, George Soros.
First he sent a message to Dobbs that the issue was dead, and then a day later he said that one never knows what comes up, an issue is never dead, or something like that.
That’s why Media Matters is so upset.
Thanks!
who has Klein’s email addy? We should send emails of support for Lou!
