MOSCOW -- An interview U.S. Vice President Joe Biden gave to an American newspaper was front-page news Monday in Moscow, where his characterization of Russia as a weakened nation hit a raw nerve.

Biden said Russia's economic difficulties are likely to make the Kremlin more willing to cooperate with the United States on a range of national security issues.

"I think we vastly underestimate the hand that we hold," he said in an interview to The Wall Street Journal published Saturday.

Biden's comments appeared to catch the Kremlin by surprise, coming less than three weeks after President Barack Obama said on a visit to Moscow that the U.S. wants to see a "strong, peaceful and prosperous Russia."

O’Biden, he is a real laugh a minute. So now the Russians have to show they are not a weakened nation ... Good thing it’s warm in Europe,

Isn’t Biden criticizing russia’s economics like a guy with advanced tuberculosis mocking a guy with a head cold for not taking care of himself?

The orthographically challenged are running the asylum. What’s the cure? It’ feels like we have been dropped into the middle of the first act of a Kafka play. Where’s the exit? Does anyone know what the court date is for Orly’s suit?

Really dumb. As it happens, I agree with him that Russia probably will face worse economic problems than we do—or at least they would if Obama can be stopped from deliberately wrecking our country.

But the Vice President is not the guy who should be heard saying that, not if we are hoping to get on better terms with Russia and get a little cooperation from them.

They are extremely proud and sensitive, and back Putin’s imperialist ambitions to the hilt. This will only help Putin pump up anti-Americanism among his people and increase his popularity.

I really expect 0bama to dump Biden come 2012. He only took him to give himself cover on the experience issue. He won’t need that next time (assuming he’s not in LBJ’s shoes by then), and Biden’s age make it unlikely he’ll be a viable successor in 2016.

You are so right!

I guess Obama and Hillary have to buy another RE-SET Button and press it ONCE again! And then say, “Joe, shut your pie hole!”

LOL!
