The only people who believe that Sarah is a quitter are those duped by the crap shoveled by the Media, the DNC, and the supporters of 2012 Presidential Candidates that fear her.

Lets assume for the moment that your statement is true in its entirety, which I don’t.... Reality is just that, reality. Thus Palin and her contingent must deal with the cards as they lie and are currently being played. Castigating others with differing opinions doesn’t bring one more vote to the table for Palin.

The Palin contingent must find a way to bring those duped people and supporters of other canidates to her side or otherwise she’ll be sucking hind teat on election day assuming she could get the nomination.

So what’s the plan? Moaning, groaning and castigating won’t win the day, imo.

What about Mike Pence? I know that no sitting House member has been elected since James Garfield in 1880, but he’s the best elected official right now at articulating the conservative view. I like Sarah, but I think she’s damaged goods. I also think she’s more populist than conservative.

I wouldn't mind Rudy as a VP pick by a conservative, like Palin, as a way to unite the party. It worked well for Reagan, and Rudy is old enough that in 8 years he probably would not step into the Presidency the way Bush I did. We won't make that mistake again.

Of all the RINOs, Rudy is the only one I like. He is as tough as nails on terrorists, and because he is tough on criminals, would nominate judges who are strict constructionists, even though he has a few questionable social views. He is also pretty good on fiscal matters. He knows how to handle the press, and doesn't back down and let them beat up on him, the way Bush did.

If needed to balance the ticket, Rudy would be a good choice. A Palin/Hunter or Demint/Palin type ticket would be a conservative dream, but might cause enough of a split in the GOP to prevent victory. Losing 5 percent of the GOP vote would guarantee defeat.

Once in power, do as RR did, and educate the electorate on WHY conservatism is the way to go. RR did such a good job of that that Republicans pretended to be conservative until 2008, because moderate became a dirty word in the party, just as liberal became a dirty word in the Democrat party. Oh no!, cried Bush, Romney, Huckabee, et al.--we are conservative. Pfft, yeh right.

Then, make sure that conservatives maintain control of the party this time, don't give it back to the Bushes, Romneys, Martinez's, Crists, McCains, etc. Those RINOs spent 20 years fighting against conservatism, and the result is we are on the precipice of losing our country.

That’s what I really want to see Sarah come out strongly for—the 2010 elections.

You know, that is a great role that she could play that would also cement her as the leading voice of the party. She needs to do what Newt Gingrich did in 1994, and that is nationalize the election. (Obama is nationalizing everything else).

The way to do that is to form an organization that stands for a list of specific policies and actions, similar to Newt's "Contract with America". Free market solutions to economic slow down (low taxes and less regulation); a conservative health reform (the Utah Senator has a great proposal of this kind); victory in Afghanistan; no to amnesty; no to trillion dollar "stimulus" proposals; no to more bailouts; Govt. out of the Auto and Banking industry; no to cap and trade; judges who believe in following the Constitution, etc.

Get Republicans to sign on, and when they sign on, the organization gives them support and they pledge to follow this conservative platform. It is a power base outside the GOP. Just as the Dems have leftist caucuses and NGOs, we need one that can exert a little pressure. I think that once it gathered steam, and the polls show that the GOP can make big gains in 2010, pretty much every Republican will sign on, even the RINOs. It will then be a way to keep RINOs in line.

Newt did it from his post as House Minority leader and with a mostly conservative group of Congressmen, but he was able to get a resistant Bob Dole and his Senate stooges to sign on, and because it was a list of specific promises, we were able to hold them to it. Sarah can do it from outside the Congress, but she would need a ton of money and logistical support to build that kind of organization. I don't know if that is what she is trying to build, but if she is, I will go all in and help. I don't see any other way that Republicans can unite sufficiently to make enough gains in 2010. Right now, they are a herd of cats, and most of them are scaredy-cats.

I agree. No third party but a national agenda and structure. Well put.

Sarah quit, you can spin it any way you want, but it will be hammered home every day by her opponents, the dims and the MSM. It will be a factor for many of the swing voters she would need to win a general election.

What's really scary are people who continuously parrot the Democrats and pretend it's common sense.

Moaning and Groaning?

Castigating?

Gross mischaractirization of what I have been saying.

The plan is exactly what Palin has been saying since July 3rd with her resignation speech; she has been set loose to discuss the issues with America on a continuous and unfettered basis.

Either you are uninformed, or purposely have not been listening.

She starts on August 8th at the Reagan Library.

Perhaps the most destructive act ever done to the Reagan legacy was done by Reagan himself when he chose Bush in 1980.

People on FR say she is damaged goods not because they don't like her but because they are realists and understand how the game of politics is played.

She's indicated time and again that she's not going to play the game of politics the way it's normally played. She's out to build a grassroots movement and she'll rise or fall based on her ability to do that, to make her case directly to ordinary Americans across the country.

I paid close attention to her even after the election and I had no trouble at all understanding her actions. I watched the Alinskyites set out to bankrupt her and ruin the progress she was making in Alaska. If she had stayed in office at the rate these bogus complaints were coming in, she would have incurred an additional $1 million in personal debt, had her family continually trashed and likely ruined her career...not to mention the damage and expense to the state.

She's not rich (yet), she's not a member of the ruling class and she has no party structure to back her up. She's alone. The Dem-influenced investigator on her legal defense fund is engineering a ruling that will prevent her from even accepting public donations to pay off her personal legal debt.

Facing all this, she made a decision that was best for her, her family and her state under the circumstances. Independent polling done after she "quit" seemed to indicate that many others understood this decision. Her favorables with Independent voters are on the rise according to respected non media-driven polls like Rasmussen and PPP. Will the media-driven polls like ABC/WaPo and NBC/WSJ indicate otherwise? Sure they will. That's their point.

The key will be her ability to make her case directly. We'll see what happens. You and others here who can't get past the "quitter" thing may never accept it. I'm sure she'll understand.

But many Sarah supporters have blinders on and will continue to spin it or ignore this fact like it doesn't exist and denigrate people who bring it up until the train crashes.

Sorry, but I doubt most of the posters saying this are doing it from sincere positions.

Most of the posters who are posting this nonsense are supporters of potential 2012 Presidential Primary who see their candidates potential Presidential run threatened by Sarah or they are people, who like Krauthammer and Barnes, are better classified as elitists or NeoCons who don't have much use for Social Conservatives, except for their votes.

A small minority actually believe that Sarah is a quitter and did not mean what she has said.

Those who are sincere, will soon have their minds changed as she becomes more and more visible since she has been freed from the responsibilities of the governorship.

Those who are insincere, like yourself, will continue to spin and lie about Sarah.

We needed Sarah to lead the revolution from WITHIN the game. She now is on the outside and while she can be a formidable proponent for conservative causes, she has taken herself off the main board for good.

Being trapped in office in Alaska while the entire game was here was being "outside", now she is capable of fighting the rinos from "within" by joining the frey with all the other non office holding candidates.

The current two party monopoly is the result of a majority thinking that way. Enjoying the results so far?

It isn't a monopoly there are 49 more parties to choose from.

You mean like how the press hammered home how dumb Reagan was or he was just an actor?

You're repeating the lines of the media because it suits your purposes.

They will crucify any outspoken conservative if they connect with the people.

This whole "She's a quitter and therefore damaged goods" is just their latest volley.

It won't work, because she ain't quitting, quite the opposite, she is coming back even harder.

Every time they slime her, she doubles-down and strikes back even harder.

This frightens the media, the DNC, and the GOP elite.

None of them can control her.

I don’think anyone is surprised that her polls will hit a low point during this period, you don’t have to be a political genius to anticipate that during a major adjustment (the resignation) the media will feed on a conservative, but her poll numbers even now still keep her at the top or right at the top with her possible challengers.

Even in this little post resignation snapshot moment Palin is looking solid for this absurdly early date, look at the polls in post 76 for instance, just who do you think is blowing her out of the water in these polls, the answer is no one, not Mitt Romney nor Mike Huckabee or anyone else.
