Obama knows from his Senate campaign of 2004 what problems unsealed documents can cause.

Wasn't he the one back then demanding that records be unsealed because the "public has a right to know"?

I don’t recall if he was directly involved in it, but the media went to work on his behalf against the Democratic fronrunner, Blair Hull, and the GOP nominee, Jack Ryan. In Ryan’s case, the Chicago Tribune successfully sued to have his sealed divorce documents unsealed and released. The rest is history.
