Well, it happened to Dan Rathther and the supposed Air National Guard typewritten letter with superscript and proportionally spaced font.

But I can easily see the word "African" substituted for "Negro" when the records were digitized. Heck, a simple program can scan the entire database and do a global replace.

Have they decided which hospital Zero was born in yet?

"African" is neither race or ethnicity, there were a lot of Rhodesians who considered themselves "African(ers)" and they are/were lily white! It occurs to me that the term "African-Americans" is about as ridiculous as both words refer to a geographic location and not ethnicity.
