I'm a refugee from Chicago (where for awhile, I drove tractor-trailer in the city). Every time I hear people complain about traffic in the Springs I have to struggle to keep myself from rolling my eyeballs.
But that may be because while the Springs is getting pretty big, because of the military people who didn't want to go back home to Dinkytown,USA, the city has a definite small town atmosphere. My first month here, I had a flat and ten people stopped to offer help. In Chicago, they hit the gas to make the splash extra big.
That used to be a popular bumper sticket back in the 80’s.
Lived there in the 80’s and enjoyed it. Haven’t been back since 1992 and dont know if I’d even recognize the place.
