Yep, My wife will be at the Hannity Concert in San Diego the day before and she wanted to go see Sarah. But, it’s by invitation only...sigh.

I hope to be up there RD.
Excellent!

FWIW, we will have the "Rally to Support Sarah Palin" even if -- for some reason -- she CANNOT be there in person.

NEW thread going up soon.

This could just be another "head fake" -- like they did the night before McCain tapped her to be VEEP, but check THIS out!

From www.politicsdaily.com:

...Reuters reports that John McCain's onetime running mate is expected to attend the 900-person event on Aug. 8, which will be held by the Simi Valley Republican Women Federated and take place at the Ronald Reagan Presidential Library and Museum.

Though the Simi Valley group confirms Palin's expected appearance, the news from the former governor's own camp is less encouraging.

Representatives told Reuters that Palin "has not confirmed her attendance at any event" and calls the California gala "one of hundreds of outstanding invitations" that she has pending...

Yeah even John Ziegler today on his radio show(He is attending the event) said that Sarah herself has NEVER confirmed that she is attending and the media is setting her up so that if she does not attend they can say “see she flaked out of another event” even though she never ever said she was attending

Maybe she will be so encouraged by this thread -- that she will come, just to see OUR RALLY for her!
I still believe that she WILL NOT be able to pass up the symbolism of being at the REAGAN LIBRARY for her first event as a private citizen.

Sarah WILL be there!

I hope so. I am still waiting for her official twitter page. I want to hear what she is gonna do next. I hope those bogus polls that keep on coming out don’t discourage her. They are meant to make her think that people don’t care about her anymore. To the contrary, we all LOVE her and we want her to be the voice of the tea party movement. Just wish I could have the opportunity to talk to her 20 minutes, all I would need is 20 minutes to show her how she can come out and rally the troops and be the future of Conservatism

Release Concerning Simi Valley Republican Women’s EventShare
Today at 6:32pm

As repeatedly stated to several in the media over the last week, former Governor Sarah Palin is not committed to attend the Simi Valley Republican Women’s event at the Reagan Library and in fact is not attending the event. Neither the Governor’s state staff nor SarahPAC has ever committed to attending this event or speaking at this event, and even requested that the Governor's name be removed from the invitation several weeks ago. The Governor has other work and commitments to take care of at that time. She looks forward to visiting her friends in California soon.

All event requests must be confirmed with Meghan Stapleton of SarahPAC. Additionally, all invitations bearing the Governor’s name must be approved by her attorney before proceeding.

Thank you.
Meghan Stapleton

From one of my FAVORITE threads:
McCain appears set to name Palin as running mate (FR exclusive analysis)
August 29, 2008 | xjcsa

Posted on Friday, August 29, 2008 5:08:06 AM by xjcsa

Based on a couple of key pieces of evidence uncovered by others (h/t to Truthseeker at Draft Sarah Palin), it appears nearly certain that John McCain is set to announce Alaska governor Sarah Palin as his running mate. This evidence has also been noted by Kathryn Jean Lopez at the Corner and in a few posts here on FR, although I have not seen both pieces noted together.

So what's this evidence? Flight tracking information from two separate chartered flights.

One of these flights started in Anchorage and flew nonstop to Hook Field Municipal Airport (MWO) in Middletown, Ohio, less than 30 miles from where McCain is to make his first appearance with his running mate. The other airplane also started in Anchorage two days ago, but flew first to Flagstaff, Arizona (near McCain's home in Sedona), and then on to the same airport in Middletown, Ohio (with fuel stops along the way in Seattle and Amarillo).

This is too much for coincidence - it appears certain that Sarah Palin and her family were flown separately to Ohio for the big event. Most likely Palin was on the flight that stopped overnight in Flagstaff and her family was flown on the nonstop flight yesterday.

It's not 100%, but I'd call it something like 98% - Sarah Palin appears to be the pick.

Fox News on TV said she is still in Alaska.

ABC says she’s in alaska..

Looks like it’s not Palin.... :(

You may be right, they are now saying on TV that her staff doesn’t really know where she is right now.

Also, the Chicago Tribune is now saying it is indeed Palin.

Up until ONE HOUR before she was announced as Senator McCain's running mate, the MSM still thought that she was in Alaska -- and out of the running. :o)
The SAME THING might be happening again THIS time. Palin "head fake." :o)

So, does this mean she is really attending the event in Simi Valley, like some kind of trick LOL. I’d love to see her there but I knew for weeks if Sarah does not confirm it herself, best bet is that she is not going. It even says so in the email, not confirmed to be attending. It’s in black and white. This is the problem with rumors, people start spreading it and it ends up hurting someone, just like the bogus story about Sarah hosting her own radio show, she is NOT having her own radio show, but of course some people believed it. Just like the story about Sarah forming a 3rd party, she isn’t forming a 3rd party, just another bogus LIE. Rumors are like cancers, they spread like wildfire and it takes forever to be cleaned out

Not sure what to think.
If true, it means that Governor Palin needs a MUCH better staff.
If this wasn't going to happen, they needed to nip this in the bud WEEKS ago.

I will take the blame for PROMOTING this event, though.

Sorry, Sarah!

In a reminder of her often-testy relations with the media, she took a parting shot at the press during her farewell address in Fairbanks, Alaska, on Sunday, saying: “Democracy depends on you. That’s why our troops are willing to die for you. So how about in honor of the American soldier you quit making things up?”

That's what I like about Sarah. Her honesty and straight forwardness, devoid of pretense.  She just goes out there and is her authentic self, not attempting to be someone she is not. The media, the pundits, and the talking heads will keep repeating that she is unsophisticated and uneducated, but it is her clear, direct way of saying things that keep getting crowds coming, and they are sure to grow as she continues her political life.

There will be reports from citizen journalists - the ones who have been doing the real reporting for the last ten years or so anyway. Pi$$ on the pack of liars in the MSM.
