All of the “possible side effects” must be listed because of our liability laws and the FDA testing. Most of these side effects likely occurred at very low rates, such at 1 or two per thousand. Nearly every food also has “side effects” that are not listed because they are not tested. This article seems like a stupid anti-technology, anti-capitalist rant.

I don’t want me or mine to be the one in a thousand that suffers from the side effects?
Even the side effects from new biologics for arthitis are worse than arthritis itself. I will take my deformed fingers over leukemia or a simple infection that can destroy the body any day.

That is because it IS a stupid anti-technology, anti-capitalist rant.
‘How DARE pharmaceutical companies make a PROFIT off of sick people!’ is the underlying premise; not ‘Wow, they produced a new drug that is more effective with less side effects that improves peoples quality of life IF they are willing to pay for it (and they seem to be)’.

This article seems like a stupid anti-technology, anti-capitalist rant. The Luddites of the modern world are constantly bitching and moaning about the evils of technological and medical advances ... do they not understand what "life" in this country was like 100 years ago?
- Average life expectancy for white males was 48 years - for all other males it was 32.5 years.
- Only 14% of homes had a bathtub
- Daily travel was by horse or on foot
- In 1900, if a mother had four children, there was a fifty-fifty chance that one would die before the age of 5. At the same time, half of all young people lost a parent before they reached the age of 21.
- In 1900, the average family had an annual income of $3,000 (in today's dollars). The family had no indoor plumbing, no phone, and no car. About half of all American children lived in poverty. Most teens did not attend school; instead, they labored in factories or fields.
Sure makes me want to wind back the clock .... /sarcasm off

I remember being on Effexor when I was fifteen. Caused insomina and anorexia. My parents were freaking out, yelling at me to eat and it wasn’t until my real mom pointed it out that they realized what was happening.
