The truth of the matter is that there was no politically tenable way for the Seattle police to crack skulls on what was an exclusively black mob targeting white people for brutally savage attacks. This led directly to the death of Christopher Kime, a young man who was beaten to death with a skateboard while the SPD watched like spectators.

Christopher Kime's family eventually sued the City of Seattle and received $1.75M in an out of court settlement.
