I spent the first 25 years of my life in Boucher's 9th District in Southwest Virginia and know the region's politics well, which are fairly Conservative but still Democrat of the 1930s variety, with strong UMWA influence.

Essentially, Boucher has survived through lots of pork and by talking out of both sides of his mouth, saying one thing to his constituents and the coal industry, while carrying Nancy Pelosi's water in DC. It's finally caught up to him with as more and more local folks are getting internet access to the real news and not liking what they are hearing from him, especially in light of his coal-killing Cap & Tax vote.

I talked to my dear old retired coal miner Democrat dad last night and he admitted to me that I've been right about Boucher all along and that Boucher has killed himself politically in SWVA because of Cap & Tax.

This was a stunning admission coming from the old man, who's been a lifelong democrat!

good for him. They are just realizing that the new democrats are not the democrats they grew up with.
