An excellent observation. I've lost all faith in the ballot box. I'm not sure if the problem is that:

1) The majority of voters are hopeless idiots who will always support the incumbent, OR
2) The electoral process is completely corrupt, and they don't really count votes anymore.

Either could be true. But either way, it sure seems like a waste of time for me to show up and vote. (Note: I haven't missed an election since 1978 -- but I'm not that interested in future outings.)

Then guilt sinks in. If I vote, at least I can say I showed up.
