Truce Reached in Cable News Feud
Keith Olbermann of MSNBC Bill O'Reilly of the Fox News Channel regularly trade swipes at each other on their cable news shows.

It was a media cage fight, televised every weeknight at 8 p.m. But the match was halted when the blood started to spray executives in the high-priced seats.
For years Keith Olbermann of MSNBC had savaged his prime-time nemesis Bill OReilly of the Fox News Channel and accused Fox of journalistic malpractice almost nightly. Mr. OReilly in turn criticized Mr. Olbermanns bosses and led an exceptional campaign against General Electric, the parent company of MSNBC.
It was perhaps the fiercest media feud of the decade and by this year, their bosses had had enough. But it took a fellow television personality with a neutral perspective to bring it to an end.
At an off-the-record summit meeting for chief executives sponsored by Microsoft in May, the PBS interviewer Charlie Rose asked Jeffrey Immelt, chairman of G.E., and his counterpart at the News Corporation, Rupert Murdoch, about the feud.
Both moguls expressed regret over the venomous culture between the two networks.
Then, even though the feud had increased the viewing audience of both programs, they instructed lieutenants to arrange a cease-fire, according to four people who work at the companies and have direct knowledge of the deal.

Meh. I didn’t know there was ‘a fight’. I try not to watch either of them, to be honest. Especially ‘Olby’.
This alleged “feud” looked to me like nothing more than Oberman nipping at O’Reilly’s ankles like a yip-yip dog on meth, while O’Reilly relentlessly ignored him.
Does this mean Olbermann is going to stop wetting himself?
Yep - I gave up watching cartoon shows many years ago. That’s all this sh*t is, after all.
O’Reilly hardly ignores him....he’s probably even more thin skinned than Obama - and that’s saying a lot.
Yawn. Two “Look at Meeeeeee” maroons
They both suck.
Since no one actually watches Olbermann they had to take his word for it that he savaged O'Reilly.
Oh bummer, the slap-happy biatch fight is over.
I was noticing how O’Reilly likes to beat up on girls and weaker personalities by just shouting them down or blathering on about how “The Factor investigated and that’s bogus”.
Wouldn’t it be interesting to see him go toe-to-toe with Rush?
O’Reilly would never have the balls to have someone on his show who is superior intellectually and as a communicator.
3 words.....all we needed.
This is true. He is of mediocre intellect. He keeps reminding viewers that he attended Harvard- but it was the JFK School of Government, a department of relatively new vintage and not anywhere as near prestigious as the more renowned schools of journalism in Columbia and Northwestern.
Generally, O’Reilly cleverly elevated himself & attacked NBC and GE, rather than dealing with Olbermann on a lower level. O’Reilly is a frustrating jerk in a lot of ways, but on this one he had the right touch.
They should just fire ‘em both, and replace them with somebody who’s worth a damn.
I’ve never seen olberman, and quit watching O’r years ago.
That may be, but I don't think that the word 'Olbermann' ever leaves O'Reilly's lips.
I guess the pathetic Olbermann can’t take the ridicule he received for calling Jim Robinson...Jim Thompson. I wish someone could find the posting about Olberman recalling his trip to the ER after finding soap outside his apartment thinking it was some bio attack. Then he had the idiocy to tell about how the Hospital wanted to do a 72 hour hold on him. Funny as H
Charlie Rose Neutral? My ass!
