Rates are one thing. Percentage paid is another. Back then there were lots of ways to avoid paying the high rates, so they didn’t.
Right you are about rates verses percentages. I recall when that jerk Kerry made his tax returns available I noted he paid a less percentage of his joint income in taxes then I did albeit our “rates” were supposed to be in my favor.
Face it, the income tax if evil and has now become a majority preying on a minority.
