It may be because the allegations come from the words of family.

A weak argument, at best.

At 200% viewing, the raised seal which would have been on the back is visible in the 7’s and 9 sections far right. That raised seal is what was missing from the first forgeries the Obama goons posted on the Web but later tried to add tot he original forgery. They mistakenly used the wrong year seal to add onto the 2007 forgery. But of course, stealthy obamanoids will tell us the forgeries have no probative value!

It was not until years later, however, when Obama’s older half-sister visited him in Chicago, that he learned how inaccurate his image of his father had been. After working for an American oil company in Kenya and then for Kenya’s Ministry of Tourism, the economist fell out of favor with the government, was blacklisted from finding work and was socially outcast. He became a heavy drinker, turned abusive to his American wife and eventually was destitute, borrowing money from relatives for food, as Obama describes his sister’s account in his memoir.

“All my life, I had carried a single image of my father … The brilliant scholar, the generous friend, the upstanding leader. That image had suddenly vanished,” Obama wrote. “Replaced by … what? A bitter drunk? An abusive husband? A defeated, lonely bureaucrat? To think that all my life I had been wrestling with nothing more than a ghost! The king is overthrown, I thought. … Whatever I do, it seems, I won’t do much worse than that, I thought.”

Bold is support of my theory. That SADO left Kenya in fear. No woman in the last two weeks of pregnancy feels like traveling. The baby has already moved into the birth canal. Jericho, where Sarah's house was that Sr considered home was in Nairobi. SADO was already traveling" if she had BO in the Coast hospital in Mombasa as the GLOBE reported. Nairobi and Mombasa are linked by train. The depot is near the international airport and ten miles from the hospitals. In 1961 large vans transported people in the area.

If the baby was born in Mombasa it is probable that the birth would be registered at the hospital and the hospital in turn would relay information to the American Embassy (phone or wire). Who would in turn relay the information to HI (wire) with written documentation to follow, where SADO said was here state of residence. (Nothing sinister)

In HI the birth would be registered. Most likely this would be explained to SADO. Since neither she nor Sr had a residence in Hawaii, SADO being a practiced liar, made up an address as their place of residence. The newspaper picked it up.

SADO leaves Kenya for Washington State, where she only has to activate her earlier registration. Her parents know through a family friend where she is, but she is in hiding from the abusive Sr who may have threatened to take the child and give to his family in Kenya.(another reason to get him registered as an American citizen.)

SADO did not return to HI until after Sr has left the islands and then when she filed for divorce (She wanted to make sure she had sole custody of her son), she timed it so the notice would be sent when she knew he wouldn't be "home."

“...A weak argument, at best.”

Without going back through numerous links, to the best of my recollection, there have been articles that maintained the grandfather was arrested and detained in 1949. In ‘Dreams’ it is contended that he only spent six months in detention. Other sources state two years. None that I have read are backed by any records from the period. The allegations of torture remain ALLEGED.

http://canadafreepress.com/index.php/article/11504

Obama’s paternal grandfather, Hussein Onyango Obama worked as a cook for a British army officer when he became involved with the Kenyan independence movement. Grandpa Obama was arrested in 1949 as a supporter of the Kikuyu Central Association, the organization that ultimately spawned the Mau Mau. There is no question that the Kenyan penal system of that era was a violent place; mere imprisonment was not considered sufficiently punitive; torture was ubiquitous. Grandpa Hussein’s wife tells of horrific torture of her husband at the hands of the Brits. Some of her recollections are questionable however: one scene of hell on earth she describes is actually a pretty good description of the process of delousing.

There is also no dispute that if Hussein was arrested for subversive activities, he was up to something more than just community organizing. He certainly would have been subject to some Enhanced Interrogation Techniques using more than a caterpillar or Neti pot.

The left wants to paint the Mau Mau as yet another misunderstood group of oppressed victims. The truth is; the Mau Maus were vicious guerilla fighters. Contrary to popular folklore, the Mau Mau slaughtered far more Kikuyu citizens than the whites they were supposedly rebelling against.

I don’t believe a word of it, the introduction is simply designed to impress the audience...of muslims.

Allegations of torture have been part of the muslim play-book since the Declaration of Human Rights by the United Nations in December, 1948. Allegations of torture are part of the al-Qaeda manual...the West makes a declaration of human rights, and islam immediately finds a use for it against us!

Ever see a muslim that was arrested who didn’t claim he was tortured...I haven’t. It’s the first thing that comes out of their mouths.

Obama Sr. gave full vent to his Marxism in “Problems Facing Our Socialism,” which appeared in the July 1965 edition of East African Journal, pp. 26-33.

snip

The Obama’s family, we now know, shares a common history of rabid anti-white sentiments.

The president’s grandfather Onyango Obama became involved with the Kikuyu Central Association (KCA), a radical organization that sought to drive the British settlers from Kenya by violence. Many members of the Association became leaders of the Mau Mau Movement that spread terror throughout Kenya during the 1950s.

Members of the KCA were obliged to take an oath to fight and defend themselves against all white colonists and Western European intruders. The oath included animal sacrifice and the ingestion of blood. The ritual reportedly also included cannibalism, ritual zoophilia with goats and other animals, and sexual orgies.

snip

In Dreams from My Father, Barack Obama writes that his grandfather served six months in prison and was later found innocent to the charges of belonging to a terrororist organization and overt sedition.

But Onyango remained incarcerated in a high security prison for over two years.

To arrest a Luo ex-soldier, who must have been a senior figure in the community, is pretty serious,” said Professor David Anderson, director of the African Studies Centre at the University of Oxford and an authority on the Mau Mau rebellion. They must have had some damn good evidence.”

The severity of Onyango’s crimes is further evidenced by the fact that he was transported and confined to the Kamiti prison, a national maximum-security facility outside Nairobi.

So is it possible that Bo got some inheritance from his step father?

You decide.

Dreams from my Father, Pages 45-46:

"Power. The word fixed in my mother’s mind like a curse. In  America, it had generally remained hidden from view until you dug beneath the surface of things; until you visited an Indian reservation or spoke to a black person whose trust you had earned. But here power was undisguised,  indiscriminate, naked, always fresh in the memory. Power had taken Lolo and yanked him back into line just when he thought  he’d escaped, making him feel its weight, letting him know that his life wasn’t his own. That’s how things were; you  couldn’t change it, you could just live by the rules, so simple once you learned them. And so Lolo had made his peace with power, learned the wisdom of forgetting; just as his brother-in-law had done, making millions as a high official in the national oil company; just as another brother had tried to do, only he had miscalculated and was now reduced to stealing pieces of silverware whenever he came for a visit, selling them later for loose cigarettes."

"lolo Soetoro is Mangunharjo army colonel who also have an important position in the Pertamina employees."

William H. Frederick and Robert L. Worden, editors. Indonesia: A Country Study. Washington: GPO for the Library of Congress, 1993.

"The State and Economic Development"

Reflecting OPEC's pricing policies, the state's income from oil, channelled through the state-owned enterprise Pertamina (the National Oil and Natural Gas Mining Company), increased 4,000 percent between the FY 1968 and FY 1985...

But the oil boom also provided new opportunities for corruption. Pertamina was established in 1968 as a merger of Permina and two other firms. Its director, General Ibnu Sutowo, a hardy survivor of  the transition from Guided Democracy to New Order who had been director of Permina, embarked on an ambitious investment program that included purchase of oil tankers and construction of  P.T. Krakatau, a steel complex. In the mid-1970s, however, it was discovered that he had brought the firm to the brink of bankruptcy and accrued a debt totaling US$10 billion. In 1976 he was forced to resign, but his activities had severely damaged the credibility of Indonesian economic policy in the eyes of foreign creditors.

The Pertamina affair revealed the problems of what Australian economist Richard Robison, in a 1978 article, called Indonesia's system of "bureaucratic capitalism": a system based on "patrimonial bureaucratic authority" in which powerful public figures, especially in the military, gained control of potentially lucrative offices and used them as personal fiefs or appanages, almost in the style of precolonial Javanese rulers, not only to build private economic empires but also to consolidate and enhance their political power. Because Indonesia lacked an indigenous class of entrepreneurs, large-scale enterprises were organized either through the action of the state (Pertamina, for example), by ethnic Chinese capitalists (known in Indonesia as cukong), or, quite often, a cooperative relationship of the two.

Through the 1970s and 1980s, Indonesia's pervasive corruption became a political issue that the New Order state could not entirely muffle. In January 1974, the visit of Japanese prime minister Tanaka Kakuei sparked rioting by students and urban poor in Jakarta. Ostensibly fueled by resentment of Japanese exploitation of Indonesia's economy, the so-called "Malari Affair" also expressed popular resentment against bureaucratic capitalists and their cukong associates. During the 1980s, the ties between Suharto and Chinese entrepreneur Liem Sioe Liong, one of the world's richest men, generated considerable controversy. The Liem business conglomerate was in a favored position to win lucrative government contracts at the expense of competitors lacking presidential ties. Import licenses were another generator of profits for well-connected businessmen. The licensing system had been established to reduce dependence on imports, but in fact it created a high-priced, protected sub-economy that amply rewarded license holders but reduced economic efficiency. By 1986 licenses were required for as many as 1,500 items. Foreign journals also published reports concerning the rapidly growing business interests of Suharto's children.

And Lo Lo had a M-I=L who was in banking and wife that made small loans throught the Ford Foundation..who could help him hide money out of the country.

At the time of the divorce SADOS may have known how to get hold of the money since she opened the accounts...and Lolo got left holding the bag. He wanted to remarry, she keeps the dough.

“Since neither she nor Sr had a residence in Hawaii, SADO being a practiced liar, made up an address as their place of residence.”

Here’s a possiblity in regard to this. Lefforge taught at the university. He also had three young children. He could have met Stanley Ann at the university at some time and perhaps invited her to his home for a party or for some other kind of group get-together. Perhaps she could have even baby-sat the kids to make some extra money. She could have remembered the address and decided to use it as her own thinking no one would really notice. Even if they did, they would probably think it was a typo. I think it would have been a real fluke to just make up an address that actually turned out to be a real address.

The address would be given so that the final documentation could be delivered to her. If she indeed had a relationship with the family, she could easily have contacted them and asked that it be forwarded to her, or held until she picked it up at a later time.

We all must remember, SADO was a practiced liar and very good at her story telling. (For some reason she did not trust her parents to be involved, at least NOT at the time of the birth)

Without going back through numerous links, to the best of my recollection, there have been articles that maintained the grandfather was arrested and detained in 1949...

Fred -- We may be on different pages here. My original post was in response to your post of "The grandfather: Before working as a cook for missionaries in Nairobi..."

I'm not particularly interested in who Hussein Onyonga Obama worked for -- most of his story is concocted hooey by now, I suspect -- but I think the "when" may be important in regard to the late 1950's, as illustrated by the Hagberg narrative that "the young Obama Sr. left for the University of Hawaii before the first formal student airlift" which gains credibility from the fact that the Hagbergs were actively involved in the airlifts, and that the Journal of American History December 2008 entry states, in footnote 25:

[25] Harry Belafonte, Sidney Poitier, and Jackie Robinson appeal letter, Aug. 24, 1959, box 3, Robinson Papers; Smith, “East African Airlifts of 1959, 1960, and 1961,” 25–43. Barack Obama wrote that his father “had been selected by Kenyan leaders and American sponsors to attend a university in the United States,” but a list of the students who landed in New York on September 9, 1959, does not contain the name of the elder Obama. Tom Shachtman, working in the African-American Students Foundation (AASF) papers for a book on the airlifts, has found that the elder Obama came in 1959 with support from the AASF but appears to have been routed a different way as he made his way to the University of Hawaii.
