On the first day of school last year, 17 girls from Roosevelt Middle School were sent home because their "booty shorts" left little to the imagination.

The boys are another story.

Boys are "sagging," their jeans so low that whoever is watching can see the brand of underwear.

The "sagging" jeans and short-shorts fashion was so bad at Roosevelt that Principal Linda Roundtree instituted a dress code for this school year.

But Roosevelt is not alone; nearly two dozen Milwaukee Public Schools have some type of dress code. Roundtree told me that the parents love it because it's a lot cheaper for her students to buy dress shirts and khakis than Baby Phat and Guess jea

"Reading this makes me SO GLAD that nearly 100% of all schools here in New Zealand have a strictly-enforced school uniform code."

So does Mobile County (Alabama) public schools. It's worked out real well.

Cowboy School rules for:

Arizona, Texas , Colorado , New Mexico, Wyoming , Montana , Utah , Idaho and the rest of the Wild West are as follows:

1. Pull your pants up. You look like an idiot.

2. Turn your cap right, your head ain’t crooked.

3. Turn down that blasted car stereo! That thumpity-thump crap ain’t music, anyway. We don’t want to hear it anymore than we want to see your boxers! Refer back to #1!

It is just the ghettoization of the American youth.Dress like a pimp or a banger if you are a boy, or dress like a tramp or a ho if you are a girl. That is the only way to get respect. I blame MTV for the decay of youth today.
But on the other hand, Obama wants a uniform for the youth too, only it comes in the form of a brownshirt and jackboots.

That’s great to hear!

School uniforms are such a *logical* conclusion to so many adolescent issues, I don’t know why parents everywhere don’t demand that they be (re)introduced to their district’s schools.

Having seen how well it works I would not voluntarily send my kids to a school without a strictly enforced uniform policy.

Dress codes are a joke.. Uniforms and this and all other stupid crap like this goes away.

Every successful industrialized country in the world requires uniforms for school children, yet in the US, nope.

Just one of a plethora of reasons the public school system in the united states is an absolute festering puss pool of educational malpractice.

Cracking Down On Saggy Pants

By Tiffany Craig Investigative Reporter

A new law goes into effect on Friday that bans big britches. The city council voted last week to get make it illegal to wear pants that expose underwear and too much skin!

If you're caught in low-hanging pants, you could get slapped with a $100 dollar fine and 8 hours of community service. Mayor Stan Wright says droopy drawers aren't a big problem, he just wants to keep it that way. "I think when your crack is showing you know there's just some things not presentable. You know some people's born ugly like me that's something you can't help but a lot of people can help the way they dress."

The American Civil Liberties Union (ACLU) believes restricting clothing is a violation of one's "personal freedom of expression."

The new saggy pants law goes into effect on Friday. If you'd like to read the new ordinance, click here.
