Iran could complete the manufacture of an atomic bomb within a year, and is just waiting for supreme leader Ayatollah Ali Khamenei to give the go-ahead, according to intelligence sources quoted in a report by The Times on Monday.
The sources were further quoted by the British newspaper as saying that the Islamic republic had put a stop to its nuclear arms research program back in 2003 as it had already developed the means to detonate a nuclear warhead which could be launched on the Shahab-3 long-range missile.

Hate to say it, but I almost want Iran to get the bomb so clueless voters will learn a lesson. A new admin can go in and finally take out Iran's leadership. The country is ripe for it, maybe they just need a little support from us.
I think we are preparing to go in, we have them surrounded from Afghanistan and Iraq, our CIA no doubt had something to do with the unrest and we have been funding and supporting opposition to the Mullahs for a while now. I think there is a good chance American troops could go in with Israeli air cover to topple the government even before Iran finishes the bomb(they won’t give them the chance).
The trouble with your scenario is, that while chatter was ignored by some before 9/11 and 3000 Americans were killed, ignoring this discussion could lead to, G-d forbid, nukes in the direction of Israel, a country the size of New Jersey that contains about 1/3 of all the Jews in the world. It’s hard to even talk about, but Bibi is thinking about it every day. As he said, it would be another Holocaust. Iran isn’t just a nuisance to Israel, and that’s why Bibi is so contrary to Obama.
What do you suggest America do? Rather, if you were CIC, what would you do?

I want Iran to collapse and go democratic and the US should do everything in its power to make it happen. Getting the bomb would speed up the necessity for it and a new President.
That may have been American policy under Bush. But I very much doubt that it is American policy under Obama.
So far, the Obama administration has been characterized by a certain sympathy for Muslim regimes, a definite warmth toward totalitarians...and complete antipathy toward Israel.
Our President Obama wants to talk and make nice to their Supreme Leader, thereby single-handedly resolving all the ills that rend the Middle East and winning a Nobel Peace Prize for his charm offensive.
If I were CIC and Israeli intelligence felt solid about the need to strike and where, then I wouldn’t discourage or deter them. They were right last time, even when the world said they were wrong.

(IsraelNN.com) Explosives en route to the Hizbullah terrorist group caused a Russian-made plane to crash in Iran two weeks ago, claiming the lives of 168 people, according to a report in the Italian paper Corriere Della Sera on Saturday.
The report quoted Middle East sources who said the plane, which took off from Tehran and was headed for Armenia, was carrying in its luggage compartment several metal cases with two kilograms of explosives and detonators destined for the Lebanese terrorist group. The shipment was meant to have continued by land from Armenia to Turkey, then to Syria, and finally to Lebanon.
Iran has been funding terrorist activities since the 1980’s, esp in Lebanon. The Beirut Marine barracks bombing is a notably example. They are doing nothing different than what America and the West has tacitly allowed them to do by not taking action.

I, personally no longer give one shit about what the world (UN) thinks about Israel. They have fought off all their nation-killing opponents one by one. What ever lands they gained in those conflicts are the "fruits of war". Too bad. Yet, Israel has given back so much, only to have rockets sent at their cities.
So-called palistinians are the gutter people of the world. I have more respect for the primitive tribes of the Amazon than the self-destructive, self-abusing palis. No one wants them; no one cares about them; and they can't even make a living without Israel. They had jobs in Israel, but Arafat decided the local cafes, buses, and market-places should be suicide-bombed simply because of their ethnicity. After the Nobel Peace Prize Putz Arafat turned down some 95% of his demands at the Camp David accords and immediately called for an "intifada" to blow up innocent Isrealis, is there any wonder why these dogs don't have access to jobs in Israel? Oh what? The Israelis have on occasion had some collateral damage? Ever look into Israeli schools and what they teach? I have - it's call academics and social tolerance. Try looking closely at Pali schools and what they teach. One word - hate.
Again, does it not tell you something that most the other Arab states don't want them? Hell, not even Jordan, where most of them came from when it was called Trans-Jordan. Read you history...they have been nothing but problems to any County that tried to work with them.
