Do you think she had alochol in the car and drank while she was driving? Maybe she stopped at a bar and left the kids in the car. Four hours passed when the accident happened. It does not take that long from the Campground to the Taconic. Did she drink and smoke before she left?

Not only did her actions result in the death of the children but also the three men in the other auto.

That may be why there are homocide charges.

That would hold true for non-regular users, however, a regular or semi regular user would show trace full term.

A heavy user will show high trace levels.

Police/Law Enforcement tests for intoxication test for trace.

Now, the Medical Examiner, working on the Room Temperature user, the tests get a bit more detailed.

I'm a regular viewer of A&E's intervention. It is a real eye opener to see women who are addicted to Booze and/or pills and how they have been functioning like that for years. They drink from morning till they pass out at night. I truly believe it is an illness.

That said, there must have been "signs" this woman abused alcohol and someone KNEW she was driving DRUNK and let her take the kids anyway.

Or she wasn't quite high yet, and someone provided her with the booze and/or pills she took while driving.

My guess is that it's about a 2-hour drive from Sullivan County to the point on the Taconic Parkway where the incident occurred.

If the elapsed time between departure and the collision was four hours, then those two "missing" hours are likely to be of great interest to the investigators.

Hey Marijane is harmless.

"Marijane" is fat soluable. It can be detected in a person's body for approximately 30 days or more after the last ingestion. As a result, there is often no correlation whatsoever between the amount of marijuana in a person's body and the level of impairment. In contrast, there is a direct correlation between the amount of alcohol in a person's body and the level of intoxication.

How horrible for all those whose lives were lost and whose lives were forever changed by this tragedy.

It appears there is still more to come about this story.

Reserve and charity in short supply, apparently.

Anger and obscenity plentiful, unfortunately.

There can be no criminal charges under those circumstances, since the alleged "perpetrator" is dead and can't be tried for a crime.

I'm guessing that the police are looking closely at other adults on the camping trip who may know a lot more about this than they've let on.

We watch that all the time. All the relatives know when there is an addict in the family.

I wouldn’t let an addict drive my kids to the mailbox even if I thought they were sober.

I believe Gas Chromatography will show the level of psycho-active Delta-9-THC in blood samples. Delta-9 will fall beneath detectable levels within a few hours of marijuana use.

So we know she was using within, say, 3 hrs. of the crash. The actual level of Delta-9 THC in her blood will tell investigators how much withing that time frame.

Sentate Passes Legislation To Allow Drunk Drivers Who Kill Be Charged With Homicide
The New York State Senate passed legislation (S.5517), sponsored by Senator Charles J. Fuschillo, Jr. (R, Merrick), that would create the new charge of aggravated vehicular homicide for drunk drivers who kill others.

Yep. That's potentially "driving-with-one-eye-closed" drunk (So that you don't see double).
