There are some who think the Australian BC may be a forgery intended to discredit the “authentic” Kenyan BC. While there may be some merit in this, I think the preponderance of the evidence at this point is that the Kenya BC is a knock-off of the Aussie BC.
It was a reasonably well done forgery, in that it could not be easily discredited on its face. However, the forgery contained information that could be checked, and when checked, would ultimately show the document to be false.
What could be the motive for a person to commit a forgery that would certainly be shown with the passing of time to be a forgery?
I can think of only two such motives.
Quite possibly, that person wanted to protect 0 by discrediting the “birther” movement - in that case look to links between that person and Obama-supporting groups (DU comes to mind), or even the DNC or the White House.
Or possibly, the person was deluded enough to think that the forgery wouldn't be spotted, or they were so desperate for attention that they didn't consider the certain aftermath of their actions.
I think the first scenario is the far more likely one.
