TV in Southern Oregon just issued a Tsunami warning for Souther Oregon
TV warning

Anyone else in Southern Oregon hear the Tsuanmi warning--was just watching HGTV and it appeared across the screen. Just curious if this is a test--or a real warning.

It’s probably thunder storm warnings. We’ve had severe thunder storms moving through here on a daily basis.

If it’s a tsunami in Jackson County that was one big earthquake!!!

I watched Superman and have planned accordingly. It only took 30 years to happen.

my friend saw the warning and texted me that new mexico had an eathquake so they were issuing a warning to us that there might be a tsunami. also there were some other earthquakes in california and in the pacific. also, i find it odd that they would issue a warning for jackson and josephine counties. i live in rogue river, OR about 30 miles east of grants pass, OR and we are in the rogue valley, so i doubt that a tsunami could even make it this far inland, and even if it could i dont think it could make it over the mountains.

I called the Grants Pass Police department and they said they have heard nothing and not to worry no water would ever reach us over the mountians. Duh, but why the warning.?

You might want to tell the admin mod that this was a test and change the title.

I was surprised last year when I saw signs around Salishan Oregon (just south of Lincoln City) that warned that it was a tsunami area. That’s some darn fine coastal area and very nice real estate to get taken out by a wave.

Just got back home after running some errands—I live in RR, too—that’s why the thought of a tsunami reaching here seemed SO WEIRD. Of course, if it hit Gold Beach it could come up the Rogue, travel through the wild and scenic, wipe out the almost-gone Savage Rapids dam, and flood us out—NOT:)!

There was a 4.5 in Alaska today, there is no tsunami generated from that one.

There was a 6.5 in Japan also recenty.
