Bill Clinton's triumphant return from North Korea with two rescued US journalists had Hollywood written all over it -- from the Burbank airport to the big-time producer who bankrolled the expedition to the celebrity public-relations firm that orchestrated the homecoming.

A key player in Clinton's high-flying diplomatic mission to rescue Laura Ling and Euna Lee was entertainment mogul Steve Bing, a longtime "Friend of Bill" who lent the ex-president his private Boeing 737.

The multimillionaire mogul paid about $200,000 in fuel and other costs that came with the trans-Pacific flight.

"BADA-BING"

Even my liberal wife admitted that Obama couldn’t pull off the release of these journalists and a “real” president had to do the job.

Now I know what NK got from this deal.

I heard on FOX that Bubba is going to make a documentary (movie) from this situation. Who loves Hollywood more than the Clintons? Well, dear NK leader Kim. He is enamoured with Hollywood.

I bet he was promised that the documentary would feature him if he gave back the girls. Therefore the bargain was sealed. Kim was probably happily satisfied to know that he would appear on the American big screen! Sending the girls home was no big deal compared to being a "star." LOL

I think these two Algore-employed “Journalists” got caught on purpose, this whole thing was a setup from the beginning.

I’m still trying to find the “rescued” part in all of this.

Bill flies to North Korea and they RELEASE the prisoners into his custody?

Rescue?
RESCUE?!

Give me a friggin break.
I’m more concerned about what concessions (food, fuel, two-party talks) that will emerge in a few months.

I’m still confused by these journalists. One of them has a four year old daughter. why would you put yourself near the border of North Korea when you have a little kid back home? I am being an old fashioned mama bear here? I just don’t get doing that.

Nice ride, and while maybe not as much WOW! factor as a Gulfstream, the BBJ offers a heck of a lot more room at approximately the same price, give or take, depending how each is outfitted.

Well, at least the guvmint, you and me, didnt have to pay for the plane. We paid for the secret service detail, but we pay for that wherever he goes.

That plane must have left a huge ‘Carbon Footprint’.

Didn’t think the FAA has certified the 737 for long over water flights. Also, the picture shown in N Korea shows a 4 engine turboprop plane of certain foreign registry. Are they trying to fool us? As long as a Clinton is involved, you can be sure of that.

” at approximately the same price...”

Purchase price yes, fuel and maintenance, not so much. 737 are gas hogs. I guess Bing and Clinton don't give a rats @ss about Al Gores’ global warming or they would have used a more fuel efficient plane.

The Boeing Business Jet, BBJ, is the private version of the 737, and depending on model and other variables, has a range of approximately 5-6K miles. The photo in the previous post is Steve Bing's BBJ. Extended range versions of the 737 have been in revenue service for many years and before they went out of business last year, I flew from Los Angeles to Hawaii on an Aloha Airlines 737-700, the longest over-water route in the industry.

Here is a video of Bill Clinton arriving in North Korea.

Here is a picture of the women boarding the same plane after their release.

Here is a video of the plane arriving in Burbank, Calif.

Judging from the wide gray stripe that appears on the plane in all three pictures, I would say that whatever kind of plane it is, it seems to be the same plane.
