History is the sum total of things that could have been avoided” - Konrad Adenauer, First Chancellor of the Federal Republic of West Germany.
I can remember the feeling I had when he spoke. At last, I said, here’s somebody who can get us out of this mess. (Campbell, Susan Bartoletti. Hitler Youth: Growing Up in Hitler’s Shadow. New York: Scholastic, Inc. 2005, Pg. 19. )
He was so convincing on the speaker’s platform and appeared to be so sincere in what he said that the majority of his listeners were ready to believe almost anything good about him because they wanted to believe it.
As time went on, it became clear that he thought of himself as the Messiah.
He was the greatest orator Germany had ever known. Most amazing of all: he did it without a teleprompter. The comparisons between Hitler and Obama, while offensive to many, were inevitable. They both had the benefit of oratory skills and could deliver a stirring speech with minimal substance. They pitched the same ideology, “Everything must change!”

" We never said they were all white."
What is the difference between that and today's democrat party?
I give up? What?
Um, no. This is embarrassingly juvenile and stupid.
Someone should send this to Nanci Pelosi.
It will have to be spelled out phonetically if it goes to Pelosi.
In a 2006 interview with New York Daily News reporter Ben Smith, Emanuel repeated his intention to compel civilian service. Emanuel offered these assurances: if we are worried about having to do fifty jumping jacks, the answer is yes; and the program will include uniforms and barracks.
Obama proposed extending AmeriCorps and the Peace Corps, as well as requiring middle and high school children to serve fifty hours per year; college students would be have to serve one-hundred hours per year. But not to worry, your children may not actually be forced to serve; the government will simply refuse to issue your youngster’s high school diploma as punishment. At the time of this writing, the GIVE Act has passed Congress, though House committee staff are insisting that the act will not change the voluntary nature of service at this time.
Please, people, don’t forget that millions more innocents perished under Bolshevism/Stalinisn/Communism than during the mercifully short years of the Third Reich! They were two equally evil exterminating machines, but the imagery of the Nazi era seems so much easier to recall than the Stalin era!
And let’s try to remember the tens of millions of human beings who were crushed to death under Chinese communism and by that which spread over Southeast Asia!
Hammer and sickle, swastika, red star, what does it matter? Learn from them all, and swear to resist! We’re Americans!
We don’t have to go passively into brutal captivity because we have the means to resist and that’s all I’m going to say.
You are correct. Stalin did kill more innocents than Hitler.
IF I HAD A HAMMER (The Hammer Song)
If I had a hammer
I'd hammer in the morning
I'd hammer in the evening
All over this land
I'd hammer out freedom
I'd hammer out liberty
I'd hammer out the love between the government and the citizens
All over this land
If I had a bell
I'd ring it in the morning
I'd ring it in the evening
All over this land
I'd ring out hatred
I'd ring out derision
I'd ring out hatred and derision between my brothers and my sisters
All over this land
If I have a song
I sing it in the morning
I sing it in the evening
All over this land
I sing out division
I sing out hatred
I sing out taxing all my brothers and my sisters
All over this land
Well I've got a hammer (Rham)
And I've got a bell (MSM)
And I've got a song to sing (Socialism)
All over this land
It's the hammer of the (IRS)
It's the bell of lies (MSM)
It's the song about effing all my non-contributers
All over this land
Edelweiss Pirates, yo!
It was called national socialism for a reason. It was socialism, a bit different from Soviet socialism but socialism nonetheless.
“Hammer and sickle, swastika, red star, what does it matter?”
Exactly. Choosing between one or the other is like choosing which funeral home you want to make the funeral arrangements.

That PPM song was so popular among us YAFers circa 1963 we had our own version (this was before Peter Yarrow and Paul Stookey each got busted for well...look it up)
“If I had a gun, I’d shoot you in the morning, I’d shoot you in the evening, all over this land,”
“I’d shoot for justice, I’d shoot for freedom,
“I’d shoot to protect and save my brothers and my sisters, all over this laaaaaannnnddddd.”
