About 100 people turned out this morning to protest at the National Clean Energy Summit.
They waved flags and carried homemade signs denouncing everything from carbon cap and trade proposals to reform for the nation's health care policy to the presidency of Barack Obama in general.
The anti-Obama and Reid protesters remained in force on the corner of Swenson Street and Tropicana Avenue near the Thomas & Mack Center on the University of Nevada, Las Vegas campus, site of the summit.
"How can you help the environment if you bankrupt the economy that has to do it?" asked protester Greg Neff, 50, of Sandy Valley.
Neff hoisted a sign that said, "Don't Tread on Me," and chatted with Bill Parson of Moapa, who was there to drum up support to campaign for Reid's seat in the U.S. Senate.

The myth is that we need “clean energy” to “reduce global climate change”.
We should be energy independent. But linking it to junk science is bad policy.
I hate to tell you Greg, but thats the general idea. No economy = no "evil carbon". Best get a different arguement like - Carbon does not cause "global warming" , or "Global warming is nothing but a tax scam"
The second picture with the event parking sign and pointing arrows in the background should read; “Unemployment Line Starts Here” instead!
Those blue “factory” signs are pro cap and trade astroturf people.
Oil is clean energy, so is coal if it was used to make clean diesel. All we needed was that nuclear energy development to be completed as it was origionaly designed so we could have had an unlimited supply of high temperature steam to make practically unlimited amounts of sulfur free clean diesel from the vast coal reserves we have. We could easily produce all the diesel we need for both the transportation industry and anything else we desire- and CHEAP!
