David Scott on a racial undertone in the debate over health care reform
AJC ^

Posted on 08/10/2009 11:23:53 PM PDT by Chet 99

Just got off the phone a few minutes ago with U.S. Rep. David Scott of metro Atlanta, who underlined what he said are some worrisome racial undertones in the current health care debate.

As noted this morning, Scott was the topic of a WXIA TV report over the weekend, which detailed an Aug. 1 confrontation with opponents of health care reform at a town hall meeting in Douglasville.

Scott angrily accused protestors of attempting to “hijack” the meeting.

Without black support there would not be a viable democratic party.

The blacks vote en masse without regard for the socialist stances of their reps.

They are a special interest group and very racist.

I was against “Hillarycare” too. I guess that makes me a sexist as well.

Mr. Scott is confusing racism with socialism.

No, he angrily accused a WHITE man of not being in his district, and of hijacking his town hall meeting with HIS constituents.

IOW, he considered the Doctor a WHITE INTERLOPER.

The racist is Congressman Scott.

The color of my tax money is green.

When my taxes become an unfair burden to me personally, because the government has decided that I and people like me can afford to pay for the entire country, that’s a green issue.

You’ve lost the argument when you scream, “RACIST!”

Notice the similarity between this encounter and the recent hullabaloo over the professor and the cop. They cry racism, and sure enough when you investigate the event properly it turns out to be pure racism, but in the reverse of what they would have you believe! It's black on white racism, and it's getting more and more common every day. My grandson who lives with us and is dependent on me for transportation works for a local Radio Shack store. The store he works at is in a predominantly black area of town. Often I will be pulling into the parking area from the busy street and a person or persons will be crossing my path. I always stop, smile and wave them across. I know it sounds paranoid, but I swear you can feel the hatred in their attitude. The look, the failure to even acknowledge you're there, let alone you've given them the right-of-way and the very slow pace they use in getting across. Maybe I'm projecting or something, but I know when someone does that for me at my local shopping spot I always smile and thank them, and them make an obvious effort to step it up and get across.

I don't think we've even begun to understand the hatred and distrust that a lot of blacks harbor against the rest of us. To a degree they are like Arabs in that they are raised from day one to hate and to blame their problems on someone else.

Please don't misunderstand this, I work with and go to church with and party with blacks and have for years. The vast majority of them haven't a racist bone in their body. But there is that minority that is just the opposite. Even the overall number is quite small they are going to be a force to be reckoned with as the economy continues to slide and government has a harder and harder time keeping its commitments.

This is a difficult thing for me to express and put in words. I try my best to subscribe to the “content of character not, the color of the skin” outlook on life and treating those I encounter.

Saying something as factual and true as, “0bama’s people,” can provoke cries of racism. But the truth is they are 0bama’s people.

The April day the DHS security issued that memo identifying characteristics of extremists, terrorists etc. We ceased being constituents of the President, the Administration, or Congress. Whether we fully realized it at the time or not, we had been classified as enemies of the state.

So today we are a people without representation, without recourse, and in many ways without a country. I am sure there will be fervent cries of foul regarding my statement, but when one finally comes to terms with the fact the people who control our country are: Oathbreakers, have no intention of following our laws, nor being held accountable to our laws, one will realize our country fails to exist except for what is in our hearts.

No doubt just as with anything related to humans nothing but death perhaps applies to us all but I think you are projecting her. I also think that many who have grown up believing the Marxist crap taught in our public schools i.e. "not color of skin but content of character", MLK is a hero etc are in for a rude surprise. Black Liberation theology, Rev Wright et al are not anomalies. Take away affirmative action, the black caucus and all the race based crap and let us see just how many of them "haven't a racist bone in their body".

Scott ran against Deborah Honeycutt - a medical doctor, FairTax supporter, Pro Lifer, pro-border enforcement advocate, who also happens to have dark skin.

I was very happy to vote for her, but thanks to the gerrymandering of this district, she lost to the race-card-wielding dirtbag 69% - 31%.

OMG! Ok I am going to be late for work, but I've got to post this thought.

The tactic they are seeking to employ is a race war. Even as we stand in opposition to policy, the scream racist at us. Why?

If it is a race war it give them the ability to rally their fragmented parts.

If it is a policy war they can't rally sufficiently the fragments.

Later!

"... the very slow pace they use in getting across..."

I've seen and experienced this hundreds of times, and this dynamic has been written about and described by folks way more articulate than me.

It has been theorized that the "slow crossing" behavior is a way for people who feel disenfranchised to assert some type of power or influence over those who they feel are their oppressors.

It's a sociological behavior, but to me it screams "ghetto hatred".

Yes, I’m sure that’s what it is, just a sort of passive aggression to let us know that they can have some control over us. I don’t know that I wouldn’t have the same attitude if our roles were reversed. It’s poor form to criticize or judge when you one hasn’t walked a mile in their shoes, as the old saying goes.

I am seeing it traffic, too. The light changes and they just stay there, and when they move it’s very slowly. Almost like they’re hoping to get a rise out of you.

It used to frustrate me, but then I realized I wouldn’t change places with them and if that gives them some feeling of control over their lives it’s no big deal to me.

I wish I knew the answer!
