Rep. David Scott Sees Link Between 'Tea Baggers' And Racist Attacks
Washington Times ^ | 8/10/09 | Amanda Carpenter

Rep. David Scott, a Georgia Democrat, who came under scrutiny after accusing a local doctor of "hijacking" a recent town hall meeting is standing by his remarks and says some of the conservative protesters are motivated by racism.

Mr. Scott, a member of the Congressional Black Caucus, appeared on Fox Business's "Happy Hour" Monday afternoon to give his side of the story after a Washington Times report of his contentious town hall was linked by the highly-trafficked Drudge Report over the weekend.

During the interview the congressman said "drama" over health care reform was being manufactured by right-wing protesters and has produced an uptick in racially-motivated attacks.

"There were tea baggers all over the place," the congressman said of his past town hall meeting. Later in the interview Mr. Scott produced a flier for the television camera that had an image of President Obama styled as The Joker. "If you look at this, that's a picture of President Barack Obama," Mr. Scott said holding the sign up. "He's grinning there like here's the clown from Batman. Underneath that it says Nigga, nigga David Scott. It says you were, and you are, and you always forever shall be but a nigga. If that ain't it I don't know what is."

"This was sent to my office as a result of this event that we had in terms of reaction to the news clips" of an angry exchange he had with an Atlanta doctor during a previous event he said.

Mr. Scott also read portions of offensive letters he said he received calling him a racist. "There have been a lot of racial overtones and these are a sampling of what I've gotten in my office," he said....

POINT AND LAUGH!

“Is that all you got? The ol’ worn out race card?”

Opponents of this bill have been called everything else, they might as well be called racists, too. The demonization of the Democrats’ opponents continues.

The agenda is to silence criticism and opposition.

The “race card” has worked well for them in the past, so they keep using it. Now, MAKE FUN OF THEM! Make it NOT work.

On the other hand, they’re also looking for a way to use the power of the state to silence opposition. If they can make us out to be terrorists or racists, they can use the state to silence, punish, and exterminate us. This is the goal.

If you have a high pain tolerance, read “The Turner Diaries”. I don’t condone the actions or attitudes of the protagonist in the novel, but I DO see the actions of this government described to a ‘T’. It was written in ~1970.

The government described any opposition as “racist” and used the power of the state to attack that opposition. Yes, exactly what they’re trying now.

The Black men and women I hold as friends are strong not weak. They rose up and grabbed onto the American dream and some walked miles to school everyday, others slept in locker rooms and worked multiple jobs, they did what ever they could to find their way out of poverty. They didn’t cash in on the race card, they cashed in on the American dream.

The same could be said...of whites, browns, reds, yellows.

Just saying.........

Thanks to the Supreme Court and the perverse interpretations of the Voting Rights Act, Democrat legislatures are allowed to gerrymander special “minority districts”, creating incumbents immune from ever being voted out. Consequently we have the Congressional Black Caucus and people like Cynthia McKinney and this race baiter. Our political system and our government are illegitimate.

Yawn. Same old racialist crapola. Anyone who disagrees with a Black person, for whatever reason, in whatever manner, and to whatever degree, is ipso facto a racist.

Victimhood remains tres chic among Americans generally, and anyone who can claim victim status for whatever reason is a New American Hero, and therefore always right - even when he’s wrong, wrong, wrong.

So when are we going to start pushing back against the epithet teabaggers or birthers.., they are labeling us then using the horrid labels to attach worse labels to us.

This is because no one is challenging them.

I have seen all of the folks saying flop sweat and fear, but what I see is them defining us into fringe land then sawing off the limb.

Now perhaps grabbing their labels and using them is the best method, but we ought to get our crap together and hold these folks to account for their smears.
