As far as I can tell, the issue was resolved at noon of January 20, 2009 when Chief Justice Roberts delivered the Oath of Office to Obama.

As it was not resolved for the previous 42 men who have been taken the Oath of Office of the Presidency.
And since none of the previous 42 men who have been President of the United States have been requited to release their long form birth certificate, there is not particular reason why this president should be required to do so.
Actually, no! It is not. And the issue is that Americans would like to see, the never before seen, long form birth certificate. It shouldn't be that hard to produce. Should it?!

I certainly don't believe Obama was born in Kenya, but when a candidate refuses to provide the documentation that his opponent provided, it's natural that people will start to wonder if he's hiding something.
That may have been the idea: to withhold documents in order to get opponents fantasizing about conspiracy stories and stop paying attention to what's actually going on in Washington.
The lack of information about Obama's parents and early life feeds the theories: if you had wedding pictures and snapshots of Barack's parents' honeymoon, etc. there'd be a lot less theorizing and conspiratorializing.

I was thinking more of "Greetings from Niagara Falls" rather than steamy bedroom scenes.
I suspect though, that the Kenya theory is on life-support.
If so many people didn't have so much invested in it, they'd look elsewhere in Obama's past for mysteries.

Maybe not, but the speculation isn't going to stop.
That may be the plan: tying things up with conspiracy theories so that people pay less attention to what's going on and opponents get discredited for believing the theories.
