My family and I just got back from Boccieri's office. Still "working on the details" of the town halls they say. I told the aides that I'm inclined to believe that he won't be having any.
I also told them I expected more out of him given that he was a Major in the Air Force. I pointed out that Specter knew he was going to get pounded just because he changed parties and he still held a town hall.
With my wife and kids all holding signs, we drew some interest from other citizens that were there in the waiting area. One gentleman pointed to my daughter's sign "Obama Could Care Less About Your Health All He Wants is Control Over You" and asked me if I had ever met Obama. I replied no, nor do I have the desire to either. He said if I hadn't met him, then 'How can I judge him?' I told him Obama had never met the Cambridge Police Department and yet was able to call their actions "stupidly". The look on his face of having no further argument was well worth the drive down there.
Another gentleman that came in toward the end of my 10 minute conversation with two of Boccieri's aides, later approached us outside as we exercised our 1st amendment rights. He thanked me for all that I said and told me it was well said and eloquent. It turns out, he is a Gold Star father, and lost his son Heath in Iraq.
I basically told the staff we are opposed to the government interfering in the patient/doctor relationship, we are opposed to taxpayer funded abortion, opposed to rationing and to medical review boards. We are for tort reform and portability. I also expressed the shame of our nation not respecting life of the unborn since 1973 and that we are headed down the path of disrespecting the lives of the elderly, the handicapped and the defenseless. We are the greatest nation on earth and we are better than that.
Outside at the corner of W. Tusc and Cleveland Streets, we had a captive audience. We received many honks, thumbs up, smiles and nods of agreement. One gentleman walked by and said we looked "awfully intimidating"! We did receive a few scowls, some obscene gestures and looks of disdain, but overall it was a wonderful experience, both liberating, empowering and quite educational for my children.
Bless You Bump!
They’ll do anything for food and shelter! Seriously, we were all pumped up on our way home and are planning another protest this week in our hometown.
We need more like y’all.
Boccieri will be in Ashland tomorrow at 2:00 and there is a planned protest there for anyone who's interested....
"Here's the update on the John Boccieri event in Ashland. On August 12th at 2pm, Congressman John Boccieri will be at the ground breaking ceremony for the new Barbasol Plant. As of right now there is no scheduled town hall meeting for Representative Boccieri so if you want to show your opposition to health care please come out and join us. The new Barbosal plant will be at 250 and 60 in Ashland."
Protesters are asked to be polite because the Barbasol plant is important to Ashland.
A suggested sign:
Yes to Barbasol. No to Obamacare
“...Boccieri will be in Ashland tomorrow...”
Wish I could go but I have to give a presentation tomorrow afternoon. I love that part of the state. It is beautiful between there and Cheaha.
Has Boccieri made his views clear on Obambicare yet?
Oops, wrong Ashland. We have one here too.
They’re everywhere! :)
Has Boccieri made his views clear on Obambicare yet?
His staff told me today he was still undeceided. Let’s keep putting the heat on him......
That’s a good point. We are not using this tort reform sound bite nearly enough. With two lawyers in the executive you think we could make some hay with this.
"Boccieri will have a couple of ways to get to the ground breaking ceremony. One is going down 250 until it meets 60 and then heading straight on Faultless Drive and turning right on Ford. The 2nd way in is 250 to Stoney Creek turn left then to Rock Rd and turn left onto Wells and then right on Ford. The 3rd way is to go through town on 96 right on TWP 1193 and then Rt on Twp Rd 1186 that turns into Wells Rd and then right on Ford.
To be respectful of the ground breaking event we shoudl keep our people about a 1/4 of a mile away at least and post them on the corners of Wells and Ford and Ford and Faultless. This way we can be respectful of the ceremony and yet still get our point across. Lucky for us my husband knows the area well and he advised me of all the ways into the place."
Nice freep, well written after-action report.
EXCELLENT!! Kudos to you and your family!
I have a call in to my Ohio Congressman Pat Tiberi (R). I received his e-newsletter recently and he is 100% on top of ObamaCare and 100% opposes it! I let his office know that I believe it is both his RESPONSIBILITY and OBLIGATION to take time on recess to hold a Town Hall meeting of his own!!! Dims aren’t the only ones on recess and shouldn’t be cornering the MISinformation market. We cannot allow Obama’s LIES to go unchallenged and our congresscritters should be out there leading the way like Senator Vitter did.
Thank you, I just finished firing off 3 Letters to the Editor to my local paper, Akron Beacon Journal and the Canton Repository. Hope they print them!
Well done! Thank you!
HI there!!! Good to see you posting!
Congratulations to you son and God bless him!
Good sign - there are many that have been posted here.

I'm having fun. :)
Son is doing great. We are SO proud! He's a hero in every sense of the word.
I'm planning on being at the Boccieri protest tomorrow. I am the Mob. ;)
Excellent job! Kudos to you and your family...
