That rule is a truism, true when it’s true and false when it’s false. If the other side rejects your premise and demonstrates the parallel or analogy they are trying to make is true, they win.
I’m reading up on the coming of the Nazis, and there are many parallels to these left wing whackos. The street action, the youth movement, the tentacles in all societal institutions, the intolerance of dissent, the promotion of eugenic cleansing (abortion and euthanazia). The parallel goes pretty far.
Of course, they are even more like bolsheviks, pretending to be a majority in a country where they are NOT a majority in order to gain and hold power, but either way, they are taking on the stripes of some of the most vicious despots and regimes from that bloodiest of all centuries, the one just passed. The one where people were supposed to be “more civilized.”
