Specter may not even get the Dem nomination. The townhalls were his Waterloo, especially his comment that he didn’t have to be there. Sestak now has to be the odds on nominee.
Go Toomey! Screw ACORN!
He’s running out of time for that ploy, although you know it would probably work - I’ll bet the RINOs would support him too.
Arlen Specter would be funny if he weren’t so pathetic.
You can’t poll the dead, and that’s the Dem’s biggest base in Philadelphia & Pittsburgh.
Twilight Specter.
When you are seen to be a sleazy scumbag politician who will, at the first hint of a political wind change, renounce the Party and voters who put you in power, it is perfectly reasonable voters would turn against you.
He ditched the Republican party when he was losing by 21%, so I guess changing parties has gained him 9% so far.
He seems seriously doomed to me. His entire argument for why the Democrats should nominate him over Sestak was based on him being more likely to win in the general. Now he’s going to have to go hard left to win the primaries, and that’s going to put him even further behind in the general match-up.
He’s lost 23 points in 2 months, and at his current rate he’ll lose the general election in November 2010 by 185%, but unless they change the laws of mathematics between now and then he can only lose by 100%, so he does have that going for him.
“This poll is useless without also looking at a Toomey/Sestak matchup. That one is more worrisome.”
The poll did have the Toomey/Sestak match-up, Toomey wins 43% to 35%.
Don’t forget Pennsylvania has the largest percentage of elderly people in the country next to Florida. The elderly have now seen that the Democrats want to kill them by rationing care. It should be easier to get elected as a Republican in Pa in 2010.
Does Pennsylvania have an open primary?

Sphincter will not get the dem nod, methinks. They telegraphed that when they removed his seniority when he bolted to the RATS. He is not a useful idiot any longer.
How I wish Bush had not supported him in 04.

Maybe zero can go help him out. LOL. obama was in NJ campaigning for corzine a couple weeks ago. Christie is now leading by double digits. There is a whole crop of new voters (recent college graduates) who can’t find work. Republicans need to tap into that pool by hammering on the fact that obama failed to deliver to them and this administration has hurt the private sector so bad that no one is hiring. Although my son didn’t vote for obama, he said there are a lot of bitter young people out there who did... and they are turning on him fast.
Go Toomey go- a true American that we can rely on.
ROFL
2010 is going to make 1992 look like small potatoes.
