You're right. It took about 18 months for Carter. Remember, though, all that existed was the MSM. No real talk radio and no cable.
The major problem is the people have no real choice. The R’s are as bad as the D’s. They are all $hitheads out for their personal gain, and damn the “public”. D’s just see more naive voters registered as D’s. R’s still think people cannot possibly be that dumb.
