OH WAAAA, poor little barry can’t take a little criticism while during Bush’s term, the libs made movies about his demise, wrote books about that issue, and even tried to make the case that Bush knew about 9/11 in advance and did nothing about it in order to defang the Constitution. Hey barry, you are a thin skinned punk. If you had to put up with .0001% of the hell that repubs catch, you wouldn’t last 60 seconds. Remember all the hell that Newt Gingrich went through? So now you are going to use force to silence dissent? Guess what street thug, we are fighting back. We are not your media lemmings. We don’t want what you are doing and we won’t go quietly. You poked the hornet’s nest and cry when you get stung. Reality bites, dosen’t it.
One more thing, there baraq,
Whatcha hidin?

“Did they ever ‘interview’ the libs who went around with those ‘kill Bush’ posters?”

Never

My thinking as well. The guy should check about the town, and should ask friends too as well for yard sale signs, City Council election signs, lost dog/cat/cow/pig signs, Obama signs (redundant), etc. Photograph, document the locations etc.

Be good Scouts and be prepared.

Odd, I’ve seen plenty of posters put up by extreme left-wing groups in my time. Are they exempt from the laws?

Ten thousand right-thinking Americans—old people, young people, men, women, black, white, hispanic—should show up all at once at the police station and confess to putting up the 500 posters. Then clam up and let the whole . . . sorry . . . . hypocritical . . . . . process . . . . . . . break . . . . . . . . . . . down from its own gross weight and inefficiency. All while the free bright light of publicity is focused on it.

Clermont is a small town (pop 22,000) in central Florida and I doubt they’re looking at this as anything more than vandalism. It’s a town that recently passed a Family Fun Day and considers the “town garden” to be a notable municipal issue.

500 “sticky” signs seems excessive to me.

The hypocrisy of the communard media is mind-boggling. I have literally never seen any media outlet characterize similar campaigns by leftists as anything but an admirably edgy type of free speech. Indeed, we are so indoctrinated by the media culture that the right of leftists to engage in this behavior is not even seriously questioned.

THE MEDIA ARE THE ENEMY!

>>> I’ve seen plenty of posters put up by extreme left-wing groups in my time <<<<

In Clermont Florida, population 22,000?

C’mon, this is a small town in central Florida.

It’s not New York City.

"A pair of the posters were pasted to a Clermont Post Office collection box. They prompted the postmaster to contact the Postal Inspector's office, which is looking at potential federal crimes for defacing federal property."

What BS. Mailboxes are full of leftist garbage all the time. To pursue charges against this guy just because they are posters about Obama is a RACIST exploitation of a law never used against leftists plastering garbage on mailboxes expressing their political rantings.

"At this point officials are not sure how much damage was caused by the signs or the dollar amount associated with the clean-up."

Whatever the "damage" I'm sure it pales in comparison to the harm done by the gangs of "Keep Left" signs that have been marauding in the city.

It says posters were placed on private property presumably without permission.

That would be a violation of the law (and obviously the property owner's rights).

And there are usually laws that prohibit the placing of signs on public property such as utility poles. Often these laws are overlooked, but sometimes they can't be especially if one is using glue that makes it hard to take them down.

The left has much more experience with guerrilla marketing than we do, but practice makes perfect.

Unless he posted them illegally I fail to see the problem. Political free speech.
^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^

And are they trying to ascribe every illegaly posted poster to this guy?

This is clearly political speech. It would be interesting to find out what guidelines they have for political posters. Where they can be displayed. What they can be attached to.

"Now, it could well be that there are super glues available today that I am unaware of that make it harder to get a poster off than the little trick I'm about to impart, but I'll guarantee that if there is, it isn't as cheap as this:"

Nobody in their right mind would use a very expensive super glue to put posters up. But, although that is next to impossible, there is a (almost just as expensive) super glue release agent that will easilly release the bond and make it easy to wipe off. The normal glue used is just simple white glue and water, also easy to remove if just soaked with water a while.

If they’re going to start prosecuting people for unlawful posting of signs, they’d better include campaign signs, that are routinely posted without consent on private and public property. Or has equal protection also gone the way of free speech in Florida?

I believe the Clermont police are "acting stupidly" in this case.
