I think the story is that he is a star, a legend, and didn’t cause a scene. A story with a happy ending. one that can be an example to others. Thats all.

Exactly. My wife (who is in her 30's) didn't know who George Harrison was. She got along fine without the information.

Why is 20 something old cop supposed to know who he is? I don’t see why this is a story. The point of the post is to compare Dylan's civilized behaviour to that of Gate's uncivilized behavior.
