FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE

FIRE INVESTIGATORS DETERMINE CAUSE OF LA BREA FIRE

GOLETA, CA... A week-long investigation by U.S. Forest Service Special Agents, Santa Barbara County Sheriff's Narcotics Unit and Fire Investigators has revealed the cause of the La Brea Fire. Investigators revealed that the La Brea Fire was started by a cooking fire in a marijuana drug trafficking operation.

The Santa Barbara County Sheriff's Narcotics Unit has confirmed that the camp at the origin of the fire was an illegal marijuana operation believed to be run by a Mexican National Drug Organization. The Narcotics Unit has been working in the area within the last month eradicating other nearby marijuana cultivation sites.

Although the La Brea Fire started more than one week ago, there is evidence that the unburned marijuana garden area has been occupied within the last several days. The Narcotics Unit has secured the camp area which was located in remote and rugged terrain. It is also believed that the suspects are still within the San Rafael Wilderness trying to leave the area on foot. Officials warn not to approach anyone who looks suspicious but to instead contact the nearest law enforcement agency.

Anyone with further information is urged to contact U.S. Forest Service, Santa Barbara County Sheriff's Department or local law enforcement agencies.

The investigation continues with cooperating agencies including Santa Barbara County Sheriff's Department, Santa Barbara County Fire Department, CalFire, and other local agencies.

The La Brea Fire Tip Line is still open, and anyone with additional information helpful to this ongoing investigation is urged to contact investigators at (805) 686-5074. Your call may remain anonymous.

The Santa Barbara County Sheriff's Department will release more information regarding the Narcotics investigation on Monday. The media contact at the Sheriff's Department is Drew Sugars, Public Information Officer, at 805.681.4192.

For media inquiries regarding the investigation of the cause and origin of the La Brea Fire, contact the U.S. Forest Service at (805) 961-5707, and an investigator will return you call.

Mexico! The gift that just keeps giving....and taking, taking taking! This isn’t the first time our forests have burned for this reason, and it won’t be the last.

By the time our amnesty hopefuls get done with it, there will be nothing left. They are in every national park and forest in this country, and when arnold shuts down some more parks for the ‘public’ there will be more.

Meanwhile Obama, Ahnuld, Napolitano, and 75% of the GOP remain committed to greeting illegal aliens with deep throated lewinskies instead of guns.

They're just starting the forest fires, and running the National Drug Organizations that American Citizens* wont.

Sounds like we need some posse’s up in the National Forests and Parks hunting down these criminals and terminating their operations.
We could form a part time reserve police unit to clean them up. Nothing like a good tromp in the woods with an M-16 on a legal manhunt.

“Sounds like we need some posse’s up in the National Forests and Parks hunting down these criminals and terminating their operations.”

Homeland security has been telling our local sheriff’s for years that it’s ‘not their concern’....our sheriff departments are overwhelmed and do little else than try to control these La Raza/Mexico sponsored narco terrorists.

Latest on the fire:

http://feedproxy.google.com/%7Er/CaliforniaFireNews/%7E3/StPywxCK8G8/ca-lpf-la-brea-wildland-firechaparral_16.html

On day eight of the La Brea Fire, fire managers are feeling cautiously optimistic. The fire is now 25% contained after long days of fire line construction and burning operations in several geographical areas along the fire perimeter. This is significant considering the rapid growth of the fire and the recent history of fire events on the Los Padres National Forest. Hard work and long hours by firefighters utilizing aircraft, bulldozers, engines, and handcrews is paying off. This type of progress is difficult without a significant favorable change in weather conditions or without the fire behavior becoming less menacing and easier to manage. In the past 24 hours, the fire behavior has continued to be aggressive, but due to the hard work of the men and women on the fireline, good progress has been made. Firefighters continue to battle not only the fire, but the elements, fatigue, and challenging terrain to gain the upper hand on the La Brea Fire.

DEAD SILENCE, as usual...I’m convinced the Sierra Club, et al and too many of our politicians are getting a cut of the action.

They have to be.... The trashing of Organ National Monument alone ought to convince everyone that the Sierra Club does NOT care.

I’m told by a good friend of mine who works in Law enforcement that the state and national parks in California are inundated with these illegal growing operations. In some of these protected parks you can’t walk a half a mile into the deep woods without encountering one of these farms-and the low-lifes who guard them-it’s been out of control for years.

The national guard should be in our forests cleaning out these terrorists...of course if we had them on the border, we wouldn’t need them 800 miles north!
