Well, “Silence” was always one of the “5 S’s” of prisoner handling, but it was for the captor’s advantage, not the POW’s!
Search-disarm POW and take and tag anything of intel value,
Silence-keep them silent so they can’t coordinate actions, stories,
Speed-move prisoners rapidly to the rear,
Safe guard-protect prisoners from harm,
Segregate-separate officers and enlisted, senior NCOs from rank and file.
