Obama Joker artist unmasked: A fellow Chicagoan
LA Times Blogs ^ | August 17, 2009 | Mark Milian

When cryptic posters portraying President Obama as the Joker from "Batman" began popping up around Los Angeles and other cities, the question many asked was, Who is behind the image?

Was it an ultra-conservative grassroots group or a disgruntled street artist going against the grain?

Nope, it turns out, just a 20-year-old college student from Chicago.

Bored during his winter school break, Firas Alkhateeb, a senior history major at the University of Illinois, crafted the picture of Obama with the recognizable clown makeup using Adobe's Photoshop software.

Although Alkhateeb claims he was making no political statement with the artwork, he's plugged into the Washington debate. Though born in the United States, his Palestinian family closely follows Middle Eastern politics.

"I think he's definitely doing better than Bush was," Alkhateeb said of Obama. Alkhateeb's views on foreign relations align with the Democrats, he said, while he prefers Republican ideals on domestic issues.

Alkhateeb's assessment of Obama: "In terms of domestic policy, I don't think he's really doing much good for the country right now," he said. "We don't have to 'hero worship' the guy."

I hope this guy is clean; you know they’ll be doing a Joe the Plumber on him. They’ll be looking at his BC, school records, passport applications . . . .

Personally I think you’re the poster poster since this article has been posted twice. ;^)

More likely, he's just another poster poster poster.

Dems do hateful Bush posters.
Dems make wish for Bush assassination, even making movies about Bush being assasinated.
Is fine.
Free speech.

One Obama poster done and the Dems in total outrage (and the usual hate).

Diogenes, looking for an honest Dem leader, would be fishing in a dry well.

Politics, too often, attracts the worst people.
The power hungry, the extremist, the corrupt.

Another reason for all elected and appointed positions to be chosen by random lot, ala jury duty.
Thus improving our govt leadership from corrupt&incompetent, to merely incompetent, a 100% improvement.

You just can't make this stuff up. The Dims won't go after this guy with the abandon they would a white or Republican.

No. I am a but a humble post poster. I post posts. The poster poster posts posters. When the post posting gets tough, the poster poster gets going.
And a mighty fine job he does of it too.

I posit that everyone who posts the poster poster posts is ex post facto a poster poster himself even though the original poster poster is in fact the poster child for these posts. But I’m over it already. In fact you could say I’m post poster poster. This is my last post on the subject. I’m burned out. A post toastie if you will.

And thus ends a glorious and most enjoyable posting of posts to this post.
Thanks everyone. It was great. No harm in a little fun to break some of the tension we all feel.
