What Tom Delay should have said to Chrissy tingly feeling is this....

Chris you certainly agree that Obama is a significant first in the Political history of this country right?, the first black president, the first president born in Hawaii, so I would like you Chris to make a donation to the Childrens ward of the Hospital that Obama was born at in the Name of physician that brought him forth in the world. That simple tidbit of information could be found on the original long version of his BC.

You certainly have friends in the administration give them a call and ask them to find out for you, I mean what harm is knowing the doctors name that actually birthed him. Then make your donation expressly in that doctors name to the hosipital and make it public.

That said, I think it wouldn’t matter a bit if Obama were proven to have been born on Mars. The press and the majority Dems want him in, and nothing’s going to change that.

I think Obama should produce his birth certificate even though there is ample evidence he was born in Hawaii. However, I think it’s counterproductive to force him to produce a birth certificate or to go on about his being a Kenyan. My instincts are that this is what the Democrats want: to define the right as a bunch of kooks that hate the president so insanely that they will latch onto anything (i.e., exactly what the left was with Bush). I don’t know what we get out of this birth certificate attack; it will fail. I prefer to ignore the issue and go after him for being an incompetent wannabe dictator who will tax and spend at every opportunity. This resonates with the people.

As far as I know it is the President of the US that has to be a natural born citizen according to the Constitution. I don’t think it is required for a Congressman. So Matthews argument is spurious as usual for the bombastic fool.

The Left likes to use the newspaper announcements as irrefutable "proof" that he is a natural-born citizen. What they're ignoring is that the issue is not necessarily where Obama was born, but rather to whom. He could've been born right next to the Liberty Bell, but this would be immaterial if one or both of the parents owe allegiance to some other foreign country. A person born to a father who has a double allegiance, or who is not a citizen of the U.S., is not a natural-born citizen, period. The fact that Hawaiian newspapers announce his birth means nothing. Place of birth does not define nor control citizenship -- and it certainly does not define natural-born citizenship.

Snopes attempts to explain this away by stating that "these [parental] qualifications...are moot because they refer to someone born outside the United States." From every analysis of the Framers' documents and 14th Amendment that I have read, this is false. The qualifications apply regardless of birthplace.

Snopes further claims that since the 14th Amendment states that "all persons born or naturalized in the United States, and subject to the jurisdiction thereof, are citizens of the United States," then that means that since Obama was born in Hawaii, then he is a natural-born citizen. Nope. Simply being a citizen of the United States is not the same as being a natural-born citizen.

Of course, an actual birth certificate would clear all of that up in an instant. So why is Obama spending millions to avoid producing this and other personal documents? Because he has something to hide, that's why. People don't spend millions to stonewall the release of something that wouldn't hurt them at all if it were released.
