Basic standards of decency allow illegal aliens to be treated but should not require that they be treated without payment.

If they want free medical care let them go home to their own countries and ask THEIR governments to supply it.

Many hospitals simply have shut down their emergency rooms to avoid this problem. They never get paid.
So..now if you really need an emergency room, you will be stuck at the county hospital competing with all the illegals for attention. Good luck, hope you don’t die in the process.
It is best to avoid an emergency room admission. You can do this by faking symptons and getting tested for various aliments before and emergency takes you to the emergency room. For instance..I just had a complete heart work up based on my complaint of frequency of chest pains and shortness of breath. I got a clean bill of health, and the knowledge that I won’t be going to the emergency room for a while. My max deductible for the year was used up..so all it cost me for tests was $60. Well worth it.

Maybe the ‘basic standard of decency’ can be expanded to END the virtual ‘institutionalized shakedown’ of taxpayers that's going on in this country and which funds medical treatment for all comers (even people who DO NOT contribute to the system). Ya think????

I want a life that style I can't afford either. Where can I go and receive everything for free then just hand the bill to my neighbor?...(never mind how abjectly immoral or burdensome TO my neighbor this would be!)

. He’s also apparently proud of having spoken at the May 1, 2006 event in Chicago; the main organizers of that event have links to the Mexican government with one even being an official with a foreign political party. That same official is a “key organizer” of this year’s Chicago march [2].

Two years ago, I came home to Chicago to witness the mobilization of hundreds of thousands of citizens and immigrants united in an effort to fix our immigration system. I spoke to the marchers that day, and Senator Kennedy spoke to those marching in Washington. They said to us, “today we march and tomorrow we vote.”

Isn’t that, pretty much, how we get into this mess treating indigent and illegals in emergency rooms. If this is already a source of the high cost of health care how will costs be reduced?
