Major new offshore drilling for oil and natural gas in the Gulf of Mexico will soon be a reality. The big question is whether Americans will be part of it. Brazil, China, India, Norway, Spain and Russia have all signed agreements with Cuba and the Bahamas to initiate exploration and production in the Gulf of Mexico within the next two years. So the prospect of seeing Russian oil rigs 45 miles off the Florida Keys -- where American oil companies are now forbidden to drill -- is a very real possibility.

The enemies of the United States are drilling for oil in our very own backyard, while our domestic enemies in the democrat party forbid us from getting our own resources.
And why?
Because we are overwhelmed with stupid people in this Republic who keep on voting democrat.
Pathetic.

The DNC strangling America to death.

Each of the 50 colonies (oops, sorry ... the Several States) are autonomous entities that may chart their own course. They are NOT subsidiaries of Uncle Sam Inc. and subservient to the central office.
So grow a spine and LEAD, don’t FOLLOW!
Serves us right for allowing this STUPIDITY to continue for so very long...
What's wrong with Alaska? What's wrong with investing "within" America? Brazzilmag
The Democrats would trust Russia with their crappy technology over superior American. If Key West got covered by a Russian oil slick the media probably wouldn't even show up.

President Barack Obama's national security adviser, General James Jones, discussed the matter with officials this week during a visit to Brazil. He said the US Export-Import Bank already has signed a letter of intent in that regard with Brazilian state oil company Petrobras.
The loan is equal in value to a similar credit line agreed to with the China Development Bank, also for exploiting Brazil's "pre-salt" area, so-named because the estimated 80 billion barrels of high-quality crude in that new oil frontier lie far beneath the ocean floor under layers of rock and an unstable salt formation.
Under the agreement with the Chinese state bank, finalized during Brazilian President Luiz Inácio Lula da Silva's visit to Beijing in May, Brazil can repay the loan facility with oil as opposed to cash.

What is even more disgusting is that we are totally dependent on the November 2010 elections to get our leadership somewhat under control.
It will still take years and years to reverse all of the destruction that the democrats are currently pushing on us.
Republicans will speak of drilling domestically, and of being pro life, for smaller govt, pro family .blah blah blah blah blah......once they are in they will dance to the tune of the invisible hand.
