When I was in the Navy in Puerto Rico, my daughter participated in the Brownies cookie drive with a competition with other Brownie troops. The award for the highest selling group was stuffed animals for all the Brownies in the troop with the highest sales.
My daughter's troop outsold everyone. But the stuffed animals never came.
After several months had passed and the Brownies were getting discouraged, parents demanded to find out what was going on.
It turns out that the troop master had taken the cookie sales money and sent it to her sister in Detroit so that she could pay for her abortion.
I thought that was the ultimate abortion sacrilege story. Not any more.
