OKLAHOMA CITY – While the crowd gathering on the south steps of the State Capitol here in Oklahoma City was smaller than previous protest gatherings in recent months, those in attendance were no less outraged by the Obama Administration’s push for government-run , socialized health care.

Health care was the main issue addressed at the “Healthcare Freedom Rally,” organized primarily by the Sooner Tea Party organization.

Signs held by concerned Oklahomans included “Hands Off My Healthcare” to the even more straightforward "Don't Kill Me."

Some held American and Israeli flags. Others wore T-shirts featuring Obama looking like Batman villain “The Joker,” with the word “Fascism” written beneath his visage.

Stuart Jolly, Oklahoma director for Americans for Prosperity, spoke and joked about writing “a fishy email” and then feeling bad about and turning himself in to “the snitch-in-chief.” That got a good laugh from the audience.

“We’re not evildoers,” Jolly said. “I’ve never had a freedom-loving person try to impose their will on me.” Adding, “We just want to be left alone.”

And being “left alone” is what many in the audience this unseasonably pleasant late August morning were seeking, despite the neo-Marxist overtures of the current administration.

Quoting Jesus Christ, Jolly said the Savior said “’What’s mine is yours,’ not ‘what’s yours in mine.’”

Jolly added that “the silent majority is silent no more” and that “if you think health care is expensive now, wait until it’s free.”

Of course this conservative audience was very receptive to Jolly’s comments and the observations of all the speakers and those with tables offering literature or free newspapers, like the gentleman handing out a conservative paper called the Oklahoma Constitution.

One of the most interesting speakers was Air Force veteran Cindy Crenshaw. Crenshaw, who lost both her legs in a terror bombing in 1980, while serving in Europe, approached the podium on her prosthetic legs and gave a heartfelt speech.

“I resent the fact that we have a president who proves by his actions that he does not like America,” Crenshaw said. “He apologizes to other world leaders for America’s past actions and is friendly with dictators.”

Crenshaw then added, “I am very proud of America. We have done more good for the world than any other country.”

But Crenshaw continued, referring to “ACORN criminals” and “union thugs” working for Obama who want to prevent honest Americans from voting unaccountable lawmakers out of office, particularly the ones that desire socialized healthcare.

Crenshaw then quoted Obama’s wicked science czar, John Holdren, who seeks hardcore population control and rampant abortion, in order to protect Mother Earth.

Quoting Holdren, Crenshaw said: “All the children who are born, beyond what would be required to keep up the population to a desired level, must necessarily perish, uncles room be made for them by the death of grown persons.”

An alarming quote, to say the least.

Others who spoke included Dr. Larry Goss, who noted how expensive and invasive “ObamaCare” would be for many Americans. Employers would have to endure mandated payroll taxes of eight percent. And one portion of House bill 3200 notes that while illegal aliens are not supposed to be covered, it won’t be enforced, thereby effectively allowing illegals receive free health care as well.

This comment received a loud group of “boos” from the agitated audience.

Goss suggested that the State of Oklahoma pursue its rightful path of embracing the 10th amendment to the US Constitution, which allows for states’ rights. Goss called for lawmakers to pursue this path “quickly.”

Another speaker, Al Gearhart, said, “We the people have done well this summer. You guys packed the tea parties and town halls and put fear back into the politicians hearts. Now they are looking forward to September when they think they can scurry back to Washington, D.C. and get away from the heat.”

Gearhart suggested that “heat” is just what the politicians need, in order to get the message that the people they serve mean business and will not be ignored.

And as a number of folks who were in attendance noted, many Americans hope to send Washington the message on September 12, 2009 that they are fed up with the hard left turn America is taking and that their representatives will be held accountable.

Called the 9-12 Project, this gathering of forces in Washington of average Americans is expected to include people from around the United States as well as radio talk show personality Glenn Beck, who is helping organize the event. Oklahomans are urged to make the trip, according to folks at Saturday's Capitol rally. For more information, go to www.the912project.com.

...BO has never done and never will do a credible, heroic thing in his life! The closest he’ll ever get to an injury is stumbling on the stairmaster. He should be bowing at this woman and praising her. Instead, he wants to squash her and everyone else at 9/12 like a bug.
