Students would pay out-of-state tuition and wouldn't get government grants or loans Community colleges in North Carolina would be required to admit students who are not legal residents of the United States if the state approves a proposed policy.

The state Board of Community Colleges will consider a proposal that would admit students who aren’t in the country legally and require them to pay the out-of-state tuition rate.

If they pay... guess my objections are greatly reduced.

But, if there’s a dhimmicrat anywhere involved with this, there’ll be ifs, ands, and buts contained within the law the one could drive Kennedy’s lard-ass through.

If you’re in the country illegally, how do you have status to do anything or participate in anything except a dentention center and a deportation process?

Where they would be immediatly arrested and deported. At least that is what it should say.

As far as paying their way, ALL state run universites/collges/shools of any kind are subsidized by the tax payers. Tuition does not cover the full cost associated with a student attending a college.

Here in Washington State they can get drivers licenses. It is against State law for the DMV to ask for proof of citizenship. Just need an address, be of age, and be able to pass whatever sort of drivers exam they have these days.
There was a story that ran recently about the high number of fatalities the illegals have been causing on the roads here. One, killed a woman in a head-on just down the street from my house.

Here’s a bit of irony for you. Anchor babies who have returned to Mexico with their illegal alien parents aren’t being permitted to attend Mexican schools...or get healthcare.

This sent today by Nat’l. Assn. Former Border Patrol Agents

Illegal alien students pay in-state tuition in some U.S. public universities; they are even admitted to the exclusion of others in order to fulfill minority quotas, but read what happens in Mexico.(note by NAFBPO)

El Universal (Mexico City) 8/17/09

According to the Population, Borders and Migratory Issues Committee of the Chamber of Deputies (House of Reps. of Mexico) thousands of migrant children are rejected in public schools in different cities of Mexico due to the lack of a Mexican birth certificate, which will affect their reentry into the national educational system. The chairman of the committee, Edmundo Ramirez Martinez, said “There are complaints from at least two thousand parents in states such as Michoacan, San Luis Potosi, Guanajuato, Oaxaca, Queretaro and even the Distrito Federal that, after having returned from the United States some months ago, now they have that impediment from officials in order to enroll their children in public schools.” The PRI (pol. party) federal congressman explained that all those youths have U.S. citizenship and now face rejection and discrimination when they are denied entry into Mexican pre-school, elementary and high school education, “who are denied the enrolment of these children of Mexican parents and origin, due to the lack of a national certificate.” He pointed out that as a result of the crisis in the United States, thousands of families have returned temporarily or permanently to Mexico and now face the dilemma of obtaining a Mexican registration, at the risk of not getting it or simply not wanting to get it for fear that their children might lose their rights as U.S. citizens.

He pointed out that these children who were born in the United States and who have returned to Mexico “are practically non-existent as far as the educational and health systems, which reject them because they cannot prove their Mexican citizenship.”

Good point. Few people realize that International students currently need a Student Visa....and need to also prove they have health insurance...as well as pay non-resident tuition rates

Although making illegal aliens pay as out-of-state residents is the correct way of doing it...any special provisions for illegal aliens are a total affront to real foreign students who abide by US laws....also, giving illegal aliens (re: Hispanic illegals) special rights over other foreign students is, in itself, racist.

These liberal DREAM-like programs for illegal aliens are nothing but bigotry run amok....and cost taxpayers lots of money in the long run....since most government colleges and universities get their funding from taxpayers

IF they pay out of state tuition are admitted on a merit basis, I wouldn’t be too disgusted.

Its good policy to get the best people you can (even if they ARE illegals...).
