um... here we go again.. American taxpayers bail out an American company who then just sells itself to some foreign company.

I don’t get it, I thought the bailout was suppose to save AMERICAN companies?

1. Completely different. “Hummer” is the civilian brand name given to standard Chevy trucks that have a military-looking body on them. The name is intended to capitalize off of the military vehicle’s image, but contains no similar components or design. AM General makes the “HMMWV” (Humvee/High Mobility Multi-purpose Wheeled Vehicle) for the US armed forces and others.

2. The Chinese have already copied the HMMWV. You wouldn’t believe how close in looks. Probably still has shitty commie structure and components, though.
